Lady Grendel 139 Posted January 4, 2013 Luciano Pavarotti died on my 40th birthday, sadly no points for me as I hadn't started entering a team into DDP then despite having been a DL member for 2 1/2 years. Nothing much happens on September 6th, very few notable deaths or births, although Diana, Princess of Wales's funeral was held on my 30th and everything shut down for the day, I had to party the night before instead . msc 18,498 Posted January 4, 2013 Roy Rogers died on my 12th birthday. I actually knew who he was, as one of my books had a big picture of him and Trigger. Not the most exciting anecdote, I know.
charon 4,943 Posted January 4, 2013 Fuck me, upon checking Wiki for my birthday I see it is also ''Red Hand Day'' which as anyone who knows me or has read 'Teddy Bears Picnic' thread will understand..........amuses me (I am not the atypical these days 'red hand is bad' folks, symbol of many a thing inc the McNeils of Barra )
time 8,646 Posted January 4, 2013 Not very many people I've heard of have died on my birthday, Robert Moog and Benigno Aquino being the two most famous. I was however born on the 20th anniversary of Trotsky's death.
themaninblack 2,112 Posted January 4, 2013 Bill Bixby and Quentin Crisp are the only really notable deaths on my birthday (21st November). Curiously there's never been a DDP hit on that date either...

How many DDP hits have there been out of interest? Is this like ''if 30 odd folk are in the same room it is even money 2 will have the same birthday'' type thing? Death Impends 8,014 Posted January 5, 2013 On the topic of those I was aware of (which is admittedly a shorter timeframe) the most notable are Juan Antonio Samaranch and Charles Colson. And speaking of Colson, I was born just one day before Richard Nixon died. My parents kept the newspaper from my date of birth I believe and it had a headline among the lines of "Nixon very sick".
