Admittedly, if he were still alive he'd be 113 this year so he probably is dead, but we don't have proof... Not sure if mentioned already but Willie McLean's case was solved in June, 84 years after his disappearance. https://theathletic.com/3363062/2022/06/14/wee-willie-mclean/ After his disappearance, McLean lived first in Chicago, and then moved to Davenport, Iowa in 1941. He changed his name to William Stewart Lang to avoid being found, working as a mechanic at a local garage. In 1946, McLean suffered another nervous breakdown and was institutionalized at the Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institute in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He remained there for 13 years, undergoing electroconvulsive therapy and a transorbital lobotomy. In 1959, McLean was transferred to Pine Knoll Home in Davenport, a publicly-run assisted living facility, where he died on November 6, 1977 at the age of 73. McLean is interred at Cedar Park Cemetery in Calumet Park, Illinois.

That means the entire 1954 Swiss FIFA squad is now wiped out.

He plays for Man U, he's a regular for them and Denmark again. Players are returning to the game with pacemakers etc but he's the first to do so after a cardiac arrest. I'm a bit wary tbh (but in a minority there).
