An obit is certainly likely, whether it will qualify him for a DDP hit is a question though. He received these nominations in one of the most obscure categories [documentary short], he only has a short imdb entry and doesn't even have a Wikipedia page.

Anyways, the cancer seems to have affected his brain as well - in addition to his pancreas:

Which country has a "Great Firewall", "protecting" her citizens from "harmful information" (ie. criticism of her government)? Where would you feel free to criticize your own leaders or organize a demonstration/protest march online without risking a lengthy prison sentence?

Ok to update, the Dougstanhope.com DP site I just noticed in the past couple weeks is giving me credit for a 'hit' on James Messenger with a date of 4/21/2015 DOD. I had no idea he died (this gives me a hole in my entry in Shaun's DP lol ugh) and even knowing that date I can find nothing. I'm going to ask them to provide evidence of his demise. Guess I was wrong re: obit anywhere much less UK. Hell, Hollywood hasn't mentioned it, which is odd for a two-time Oscar nominee and Emmy winner.

These folks who left messages of condolences seem to think it's the Mr. Messenger in question. Dead as of April 21, 2015? Found no obit, proper or otherwise. Ironic for the Father of the Information Age.

I've mentioned this in other threads but 66-year-old prog rocker John Wetton (Asia / King Crimson / UK / many others) is battling cancer at the moment, and has also had a history of various health problems - heart disease, diabetes, surgery earlier this year for abdominal cancer before the current cancer was discovered, and he has also had a history of alcoholism and I've heard rumours that he was once a heroin addict.

 

IMHO, he would be a reasonable pick for 2016, when you add all that information together.
