He's still got all his marbles and still working. Looking healthier now than of late.

Will this be the last year in which wine splashes across his gums?

I'll bet a pint of cooking and a bag of nuts our Selwyn is bringing in a piece of coal on New Year's day.

I found from following the current health status of one of my DDP picks, (Ladies and Gentlemen Mr) Burt Kwouk, that he and Maynard apparently keep up regular phone contact with each other. Strange friendship, were they ever in the same show together?

I felt sure Bill would have turned up at least once on Last of the Summer Wine but, according to t'internet, he hasn't.

I was surprised Kwouk never turned up in a nice racially progressive, fully-rounded role in a Carry On film. Perhaps called something like Wan King or Slin Tee Eyes.

You're right. Although our Bill was already up to no good in Aidensfield by that point, meaning he couldn't steal the film in the role of Pope Innocent VIII.

Sad news. What a superb character actor he was. Yes, I'm old enough to remember being fascinated by this bluff bloke in Selwyn Froggitt.

RIP.
