Political Discussions And Ranting Thread

I almost feel as if I should apologise to Michael Gove for the amount of times a news story has broken about a Tory committing sex and/or drug offences and I’ve immediately thought “must be him this time”.

I predict Sadiq Khan decision to try and appeal to pro Palestine voters by calling for a ceasefire will backfire and he will lose to Susan Hall anyway.

I have literally no idea what you are on about. It's like political updates from an alternate universe at times.

Library in question is Edinburgh Central Library, so few Tories to worry about around here. Haven't run the council since 1980.

Still a bell end for a variety of reasons, but when the history of the past 5 years or so are written, Pence will be remembered much more favourably than many on his side of the aisle. And, ultimately, that's why he hasn't got a hope in hell of the nomination.

Let the petty bastard do it, can guarantee you Rachel Reeves will be the one remembered for doing the job, rather than for treading water in a lame duck government. Who's remembered more as a Chancellor? Ken Clarke or Gordon Brown?

Ken Clarke was Chancellor from 1993-1997. Hardly the blink of an eye.

Fair enough, I've paid very little attention to the Major government beyond Maastricht. I've said before that 97 is hazy at best, I just know Clarke was Chancellor directly before the election.
