Lafaucheuse 4,052 Posted July 18 It was long overdue, he looked awful in the last photos. A bit sad the drought has ended as I would have loved to see a record of no more deaths after january

Superstition makes me think that Newhart will make it a 4 year streak (either that or Will Ferrell is going to have a very bad year). 4 year streak it is... Will Ferrell better look out next year. 1 1
Genfærd 452 Posted July 18 Fucking finally. Thanks, Bob, for ending this depressing streak.

Commtech Sio Bibble 2,063 Posted July 18 He has been the "how the f*ck are they still alive" pick for me for the past couple of years now, RIP, but as a Brit with not much connection to him I'm just glad that the last 6-7 months have finally yielded a hit.

Death Impends 8,010 Posted July 18 Bad timing for me - I'm taping The Bob Newhart Show now but haven't gotten to it yet so my obit on him would be far more informed had he died in a few months' time! Though I have watched an Ed Sullivan Christmas special a couple of times, recorded in the early 90s well after Sullivan's death so Bob Newhart hosted. RIP.

markb4 902 Posted July 19 This one hurts a lot. Big fan of his comedy, his friendship with Don Rickles, The Bob Newhart Show, Newhart, and The Rescuers. He shall be missed.

I rather liked his eponymous sitcom, was it set in a ski lodge or something? Anyway, RIP to one of the greats. The sitcom, Newhart, was set in an inn in Vermont. The Bob Newhart Show was set in Chicago where his character played a psychologist.
