I hope it is that a person needs an actual obituary in one of the newspapers, rather than just being mentioned somewhere. This would mean that you can read about the person's life and what they achieved (covering childhood, adulthood and death). Not a couple of paras on Guardian Australia about the bloke's mum doing a campaign.

Have to admit I'm baffled Langhorne is still hanging on. It's a marathon and not a sprint and he's still a goner, but I didn't think late-December language like "in hospice care awaiting the inevitable, knowing his days are numbered" would've been indicative of someone getting anywhere near June. Instead, he's outlasted 12 others in my squad!

I'm so jealous of that pick. I posted on DL that he was ill in about 2007 and kept an eye on his health for years afterwards, before forgetting all about him. I even bought a bottle of his chili sauce.

5. Muhammad Ali 60% (32 years with Parkinson's disease - getting worse every year)

6. Clive James 55% (leukemia - embarraced to be alive since he should be dead already)

7. Kris Travis 50% (had stomach cancer, got into remission, cancer returned, life or death TBA)

8. Helen Fawkes 45% (won three times against ovarian cancer, according to her blog 22.03.16 - the cancer has returned)

9. Randy Romero 40% (hepatitis C, liver and kidneys are failing - according to doctors he might not see next year if he doesn't some new organ transplant)

10. Joost van der Westhuizen 35% (has MND - in 2011 was giver 2-5 years to live, only 10% with the illness can live up to 10 years)

According to my math I should get six more hits which should give me a score of 46 points. If I add that to my current 58 points in DDP, I get 104 points. That should hive me a chance of 33% to win this years DDP. What do you guys think?

3. Randy Romero 60% (as of February 2016 nobody know how much longer his organs will function. It is sure that if he doesn't get new liver soon, he will die. Probably this or next year)

4. Clive James 55% (as of 14th of June his medicine still works, but it could fail him tomorrow. He has been lucky for a long time now, end should be near)

5. Zsa Zsa Gabor 50% (zzzZZZzzz...)

6. Helen Fawkes 45% (as of 18th of June she received her chemo no 73, seems that she is doing well, but you will never know when her chemo might start to fail)

7. Helmut Kohl 35% (as of 4th of April he is recovering slowly, however his health might get worse any day)

8. Joost van der Westhuizen 25% (dying slowly but should make it to 2017)

9. Keith Farnham 20% (no reliable information from 2016, seems to be dying some time between 2016 and 2023)

Across my three teams, Paul Cox is now my 20th hit this year (that is, the 20th person to die and receive a qualifying obit). I have some small regrets that I spread the talent too thin, and across too many competitions (with my handicap not to use a name twice). So my teams turned out a bit too clever by half. If I had these 20 hits in one team, I'd be at 211pts now. But that's not really a valid calculation, as I would have not chosen a couple of people who actually died and obited (like Nikolaus Harnoncourt). Also, that team would have had two jokers. Ah well, there's still Kate Granger to support my quest to at least win one competition this year. Will she be the last hit for Shameless? The obitability chances of the others have already declined by a lot, maybe Mark Nurthen and Connie Johnson will be an exception. Kris Hallenga is doing very well.
