Magere Hein 1,400 Posted January 2, 2012 Can't find where, but we have a member who collects kills by cows. May I offer: Two dead by bull attack in stable Hengelo2 January 2012 HENGELO - Two people died Monday evening on a farm at the Beunksteeg in Hengelo in the province of Gelderland, after they were attacked by a bull, a police spokeswoman reported. Presumably the victims are the owners of the farm, according to the spokeswoman. They died on the spot from their injuries. Paramedics tried to reanimate the victims. They had been called by the wife of one of the men. The bull will be put down, says the spokeswoman. from nu.nl. regards, Hein

It's not the last Galapagos Tortoise, there's tons more left. He was the last Pinta Island Galapagos tortoise however.
maryportfuncity 10,639 Posted June 25, 2012 And some of the other "surviving" toroises may be newsworthy too, since they're all - efffectively - a tourist attraction. Lonesome George was a sprightly 100, nowhere near the oldest age recorded for such a creature.
Magere Hein 1,400 Posted June 25, 2012 Lonesome George, the last of his kind.. dead at 100 http://www.bbc.co.uk.../world-18574279 Sad news indeed. I've known of his existence for over 30 years. And so young! While his case isn't identical, he's in the same league as Martha, the last passenger pigeon, who died September 1, 1914, at the Cincinnati Zoo. Sic transit, and all that. regards, Hein
