He was also accused of bribery and was imprisoned for a short time but was later acquitted of all accusations. It was only Dallas after all, and he was only an interim Mayor. So now let's see if he obits. Oddly -- this article's headline says he's dead but the story speaks of him in both the past- and present-tense. Former Dallas Councilman Don Hill died Saturday night. Hill, convicted of corruption, was released from prison after being diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer. Hill was serving 18 years in prison after being found guilty of bribery and extortion, among other charges in a high-profile corruption case in 2009. His sentence is being commuted to time served. According to a motion filed by the U.S. Attorney’s office, Hill has a life expectancy of less than 18 months. Hill was expected to live with his brother and niece in DeSoto. Sir Creep 7,070 Posted May 17, 2017 U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, has been diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer and will undergo surgery Wednesday to remove her right kidney. The stage IV cancer was found during a routine physical, and it has spread to one of her ribs. Hirono, 69, said she's being treated by a kidney cancer specialist at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital.
