Brian J. Donnelly (Wiki), United States Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, being reported dead on Twitter. A potential birthday death if it emerges that he died today.

Fun fact - he started the diversity visa program to try and get more Irish into the US. That didn't particularly work, but Congress took the idea and ran with it. Back in Mass, I used to hear he was friendly with a certain group looking for cash in the US during his time as a Congressman and Ambassador, but never anything concrete.

Intrigued by the notion that the Irish were under-represented in immigration to the US.

He represented an area around Boston - which is heavily populated with Irish Americans. Or so they claim anyway. The average Weslhman is more Irish than most living in Boston... But it scored him political points with his base. No idea why he was named Ambassador to a Caribbean island instead of the Republic though.

If so, that would in no way make him an outlier among many Americans of his background in that era. It was stunningly mainstream in certain avenues for a while, though it eventually was knocked off pretty decisively.

Civil rights activist and 2x Presidential candidate Jesse Jackson looking really frail at the Selma march w/ President Biden and Al Sharpton. Not speaking or moving. Turns 83 next year and has had Parkinson's since 2017 and had a long stay in the hospital for COVID in 2021. Definitely should be on the radar

Sharpton also looks horrible. He could pass for someone who looks good in their early to mid eighties but absolutely terrible for someone not yet seventy.

5th Navajo Nation President 1999-2003 Kelsey Begaye has died aged 70.

Third Navajo Nation President to die during the last 11 months. This means that all except one of the Navajo Presidents and Vice Presidents (Two people who were both President and VP, two other Presidents and three VPs) from before 2003 are dead, the one living being Peterson Zah, the initial Navajo Nation President 1991-1995.

Not to mention that the last Chairman of the Navajo Nation 1970-1989, Peter MacDonald (also a WWII code talker) is still living and 92 or 93 years old. He was removed from office and sent to prison for corruption until being pardoned by Clinton in 2001 on his last day in office. Still looks amazing.

Peterson Zah, former Navajo Nation President, dead at 85.

Outlived by ancient crook Peter MacDonald who was in "failing health" in 2001 after suffering multiple heart attacks and diabetes complications. (The Fujimori way of failing health) but since that he's outlived six of his immediate successors.

Sharpton does look pretty bad, but he also lost a *significant amount of weight* many years ago, and he's had a very gaunt appearance since then. He still seems active and has a show on MSNBC.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R), 81, hospitalized for a fall.

History of poor health, polio survivor since childhood; previous refusal to comment on bruised hands and purple face in 2020.

Assuming he survives this, but we all know how one fall is all it takes to send someone down a spiral — especially after losing mobility.

Definitely a big name to keep an eye on, has been in the Senate since 1985 and led the Senate Republicans since 2007. Was the single biggest pain in Obama's (and maybe Trump's) ass for 8 years.
