When I made that comment, I was talking about a drought in the DDP as a whole, and in no way was I thinking about myself when I made that comment, so sorry if you interpreted it in that way. It's probably just an age related thing in the way that it was delivered, cause I think I could have delivered it in a better way, but I wasn't thinking at the time. Twenty years from now, I'll certainly be more mellowed out. Tbf, I'm not expecting much else from this year. I'm not even sure if the Baghdadi hype will lead into a success at this point... And no, I'm definitely not Zorders. A mod can do an IP check to confirm that I'm not Zorders.
msc 18,543 Posted July 16, 2017 tbh, if you were Zorders, then the Doc had certainly mellowed the fuck out quite quickly.

Sir Creep 7,071 Posted July 25, 2017 I guess it depends on circumstances, but at what date do YOU personally start getting antsy about the idea that your sure bet (i.e. joker) may in fact let you down, despite all indications otherwise. I'll give Rayya Elias till Halloween, then with 1/6 of the year left, I'll be a nervous ninny. I can't win anything around here unless she drops dead. She is defying the Reaper and logic. Patience is a virtue, but why can't hurry the fuck up be a virtue? SC

Death Impends 8,043 Posted July 25, 2017 Losing out on the DDP in the past because Martin Crowe lasted longer than expected means I'm now more likely to joker someone who already survived a year of being a dead cert. Hence why I went with Christie this year, a move that worked out.

RadGuy 1,619 Posted July 26, 2017 Is there any particular reason as to why the International Business Times aren't a qualifying obit source? They seem to produce a decent amount of would-be unique QOs, such as for Jagraj Singh and Gretel Bergmann (but Bergmann seems the type of person to get a Telegraph/Guardian/Times obit a week late, so we can't rule her out yet). 17 hours ago, Sir Creep said: I guess it depends on circumstances, but at what date do YOU personally start getting antsy about the idea that your sure bet (i.e. joker) may in fact let you down, despite all indications otherwise. Patience is a virtue, but why can't hurry the fuck up be a virtue? SC Based on the updates posted here by Spade and other folks the past month or two, Rayya Elias will most likely be dead by the start of the NFL season (that's September 7th this year). Don't worry, she's a dead cert and an obit cert. You picked a good joker. However, to those who jokered Downie or Bracknell, I think it's time to start getting a little nervous. End of July and still no signs of imminent death such as hospice.
