Joey Russ 7,270 Posted August 23, 2017 Ricketts is a pick that I'm debating on whether or not he should come back to my team next. I guess it would depend on if I find 20 picks that are actually worth while and better than Ricketts...

Pedro67 234 Posted August 24, 2017 Well it looks like I had the first (or one of ) hit of the year, but just another addition to the list of the lost in reality. With the ever decreasing amount of 'The few' living, thought he was worth a punt... http://www.bmdsonline.co.uk/media-wales-group/obituary/nicholls-john/48889737
Joey Russ 7,270 Posted August 27, 2017 August is dying down I think. The only person so far who got an obit for next update is a death from July, and the other ones are looking like list of the lost folk, though I did honestly think that Bea Wain would get a telegraph obit by now...

msc 18,559 Posted September 4, 2017 I did complain about the lack of an obit for a DDP pick last year, and the newspaper provided an obit within 3 days. Wasn't one of my picks, though, just coming towards the end of the year at that point.
Ulitzer95 12,911 Posted September 4, 2017 Can't seem to find it now but British singer Johnny Brandon apparently passed away earlier this year in New York (his adopted home). Saw it mentioned on Facebook or Twitter somewhere. Anyway, the deets were so precise that I have no reason to doubt it, plus he was very old. He had a top 10 hit in the UK Charts. Just seems to have faded into absolute obscurity. Not sure if he was ever a DDP pick but another good example of the Obituary press not picking up on someone who is relevant and should be covered.

The one and only time I've emailed to request an obit was to the Guardian in 2010 when I told them it was unfair Stella Nova nee Steve New - a unique pick for me on the DDP - hadn't had a write-up. I obviously wasn't very subtle as I got an email back minutes later basically asking me if I had a deadpool team called The Living End and I was so disturbed at being outed that I've never done it again. That said, New/Nova did get his/her obituary in the end, but I couldn't honestly claim it had anything to do with me. As for Cameron-Blackie, I can't see her getting an obit now, which means my run of unique picks could be coming to an end 6

I think he could save you from ending that streak. But he has to die in the next 3 and a half months for that to be possible I think...
