Derby Dead Pool 2017

Recommended Posts

He means that YoungWillz usually collates the hits in one place for the very busy host, but that if your chap has died, been confirmed by both sides (terrorist thing), and got a Qualifying Obit, he'll appear in a future round up. YW being good at spotting the non-household names deaths...

Is there a QO yet, though? I see his death in the Independent (no longer a QO), but elsewhere it's still the old "believed to be dead" stories, I think?

I didn't know about the existence of YoungWillz sorry

Well, this is a tricky one, isn't it?

Last year we had Al-Shishani. US sources confirmed he was killed in one place at one time, then later in the year reports indicated that ISIS confirmed he was killed somewhere else on a different date. As there wasn't any qualifying source which made the two sides' stories coincide, he got nothing, even though as far as the world was concerned he was dead.

This is different isn't it? The headlines scream Kassim has been killed, but reading the stories the position isn't exactly clear. All the stories talk about there being no absolute confirmation of death, yet report the DNA tests confirm he has been killed and report the release of a recording released by ISIS after his death.

It's crazy to pick terrorists, one day they are dead and next they are up and walking around. I'm inclined to add Kassim to the round up (completely unofficial, just helping out) as the qualifying sources do indicate (i) US sources confirm via DNA he has been killed; and (ii) ISIS have released a recording after his death.

It's up to TMIB ultimately once he has reviewed the stories but I think there's enough there, isn't there?

He kind of passed me by as the initial reports (which said there was no absolute confirmation of death) were posted here, rather than in the main forum.

That's interesting, but what about adding top 10 contenders "To Kill A Gabor Sister" and "Day in the Death"? B)

Actually there are a lot that are showing up as contenders. Still Life, Droller Coaster, I Will Not Die, and more.

To which I say: did you see what breaking with tradition and adding in Sir Creep's 2016 team as "one of the contenders" last year did to his team? His Hits dried up practically overnight.

Hmm, potential Pan Breed opposition, you say... :P

I'd need Bracknell, Boles, Hamilton and Darc to die to be a real contender. That's unlikely.

Just need to remind you Eddie Long is dead and received a qualifying obit.

DDT killed him and wrote his obit. I can't afford a plane ticket to America/France!

Giving Bert a 50 point lead is all part of the master plan, honest...

But just wait: when all our shared certs die (including my joker), I'll only be..36 points behind him! Then he'll be worried...

And when Ben Suisala dies and obits, you'll only be 24 points behind him. :P

Fontana was born in 1931, not 1951. Just a small mistake I noticed.

Interestingly, Golden Slumbers was player of the month for both January and February, 49 points each.

Anybody care to guess who will nudge him into triple digits point-wise and double digits hit-wise? I'd say Lisa Magill.

Picks like her are destroying the game for me.  If she gets a QO this may be my last year in the DDP.

Picks like her have been around since before I were deadpooling. Bit late to say they destroy the game now, 21 years after Baby P, 18 years since the first Famous for Dying/Fringes of Fames cases, 17 years since the first "tragic young woman with a modicum of fame" (the Joey Feek if you will), 10 years since No Noose and 16 year olds, and 9 years since coma victims.

Anyhow, will there be a "next year" in the DDP anyway?

There just seem to be more of them now.
