Lafaucheuse 4,051 Posted December 20, 2022 I agree but Etta James was a legend, and Lou Rawls was really famous imo. But again, it's subjective, depends on what are your interests and if you like football maybe Vialli was a bigger name than Rawls. I just never heard of him until deathlist. You're right, I think the n1 spot will be either allocated to Pelé or Carter. And I too hope DVD, Kissinger or Barker won't make it, that would be boring.
Sean 6,329 Posted December 20, 2022 True they were more famous overall but being a top footballer and subsequent manager puts you out there to a very wide audience.A bit like Wilko Johnson I guess.A legend renowned in his field deservedly so made number 1 even though he was beyond the household name threshold albeit very notable and close to that category .I would put Vialli in the same category except unlike Wilko if Vialli makes number 1 he will almost certainly due and very early on in the year.
drol 11,951 Posted December 20, 2022 Condition "not alarming" according to the latest news (still unconfirmed). Seems the whole thing was a bit exaggerated. Still a dead cert though.

Spade_Cooley 9,530 Posted December 22, 2022 I'm pretty confident he's making it until 2023, and I'm also pretty confident there's no point in his wife getting him a Valentine's gift.
gcreptile 10,972 Posted December 22, 2022 The "experimental treatment" failed. He's in "hospice care" in all but words, even if he doesn't want it to be called that. Sad for him he doesn't want to die, but it is what it is.
drol 11,951 Posted December 23, 2022 Stable, though "overall condition is delicate". Doesn't sound like anything imminent though. He will be very popular in deadpools next year.

TQR 14,398 Posted January 6, 2023 Ban the phrase “big miss”. Replace it with “stupid omission”. 1
