Can it really be true that he was only in two episodes of Blackadder? That really says a lot about his presence.

Shame we can't swap him for Rik Mayall.

The most tragic thing is we'll never have another series of "The New Statesman"...

Now wait a fuckin' minute. How do we know that's the REAL Al Molinaro and not an imposter? Just look at the name of the website: "Seriously OMG". Hardly the most reliable source, eh? What if Scott Baio and the gang know that Al is dead but don't want to disappoint Happy Days fans, so they come up with this elaborate scheme with finding a retired butcher from Sicily who looks somewhat similar to Al himself. So they transport him over to wherever the photo was taken, where he gets to meet Gary Marshall and the rest. He gets paid and goes back to Italy. There's no way the real Al Molinaro would still be alive because heavy guys don't ever become 95+. Okay, we had Borgnine but to be fair he had his own secret to longevity so he's a rare exception...

This is one of those deaths that both shocked and saddened me, most of the people posted on this sites are just names I've learnt about from deadpooling or vaguely from my parents or people who everybody knew was going to die soon, so when someone like Rik Mayall a true comic genius who revolutionised industry and featured in two of the greatest shows ever made for television (The Young Ones and Blackadder) goes it hits a bit more of an impact. If there is somewhere else we go then I'm sure he'll be making as many people laugh as he would've been had he lived. A tragically young death of a true comic and acting genius, as they say on these occasions only the good die young.

This is what Cat O'Falk was talking about Skip past what Norden says at the start (he only takes about 20 seconds believe it or not) Also, here's my personal favourite Flashheart scene from Blackadder http://vimeo.com/60978454 (Skip to 24:00ish) I don't think I could fully grasp the news earlier cos I had just finished watching Barrymore on The Jeremy Kyle show so I was still a bit woozy with self-loathing for actually watching that show for more than 10 seconds.... This is such fuckin shit news....

Absolutely gutted....He was part of the radical movement in comedy in the late 70's early 80's. Until then it was stand up comedy wall to wall for the working class....I'm sure many of us members just had to watch "The Young Ones" purely because it broke many of the taboo's surrounding British television. As Alan B'stard in the "New Statesman" he ran rings round "Yes Prime Minister" with scripts made for his style of comedy. Continuing his double act with Ade Edmondson could only serve as his epitaph. "Bottom" progressed from must view television to sell out live shows across the country, proving that he was just as popular some 35 years after becoming such a hit.

Just had a brief look at the previous years' lists. In 2007 they had to wait until early July for a third hit! Jesus. (That's not including some of the early years where there were less than 50 names, btw). That's the worst I could find, I'm sure if there's a more extreme example someone will correct me. Let's hope we don't have to wait that long. Although on the other side of that, there were then 4 more subsequent hits in July. Maybe that's some kind of omen. Like I said before, I think there will be a big summer... "sale".

By way of a tribute to Robin's Nest, Brinsworth House is an anagram of "Robin's whores' hut."
