According to the Wikipedia article I linked to, those were in the first limo. Ilyin attacked the second one, killing the driver, that further contained cosmonauts Alexey Leonov, Valentina Tereshkova, Georgy Beregovoy and Andrian Nikolayev, who all survived with at most some glass cuts. Of these Leonov (80) and Tereshkova (77) are still with us. I'll soon move these posts to the "Astronauts" topic. ETA: I found a picture of Tereshkova from 2013: (Look, hero of the Soviet Union!) I also found one of Leonov, unfortunately undated: regards, Hein

The for us most disturbing sentence in that piece is this: Since Harper is a mere 88, her membership of our list may be premature. regards, Hein But from what I can gather she relied on Alice to stop people taking advantage of her. Just being over 100 doesn't stop you being big sister. So, which of us is suitably qualified to offer to take Harper's power of attorney and look after her? Personally, I'd be tempted to suggest she promote the new book by becoming a late entrant in the reality TV spectacle that is The Jump. Probably less potentially fatal than appearing on Loose Woman because if I had to encounter that banal collection of Harpies I would want to top myself.

And we could follow it with Sense, Insensibility and Sea Monsters Dedicated to anyone likely to follow Steve Irwin. Crikey!

A man goes to confession and says, Bless me Father for I have sinned. The priest says, Confess your sin to me my child The man says, Yesterday I saw my wife bend over the freezer and I was overcome with lust. I had to have her there and then. So I went over to her, whipped her panties down to the floor, hiked up her skirt and just went for it. The priest said Well I see no sin here my son, a healthy sex life is an important part of a loving marriage. Go in peace. Gee father, said the man, You're a lot more understanding than the people at Woolworths!

A fair summary of her film career I'd say. Although when she slapped the face of a cop in The Naked Gun 2½ it seemed pretty realistic. It was actually the cop car that she slapped in the opening credits which was a take-off of when she slapped a cop for harrassing her in real life. Her line was "It happens every fucking time when I go shopping" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxu8ddGvVZ8 Oh dear tbb, I fear you are correct and I apologise. I seem to be going down the same path as my dear sweet uncle Peter from the American side of the family. I haven't heard from him in a few years; I must give him a call.

I miss the days when the "dead of 2015"-thread was still used for people who actually died in 2015... Aw come on, every time someone dead appears it's 'oh, there's a thread for that...' or '...as whatsit deadboard posted centuries ago'. Sometimes you just can't win. PS you could always start an anal posters thread.

98 today, how does she keep going? I think she will live well past her 100th Birthday, the woman is indestructible. Wiki reckon she's that old but her birthdate has been a subject of debate over the years. I also took the trouble to look at the filmography on Wikipedia, it's an awesome cornucopia of crud. I know there are other actors - Sonny Tufts for one - famous for ceaseless celluloid garbage but who, other than Gabor, has done quite so much of it? I don't get her career. Wikipedia says that she emigrated to the United States in 1941 and "became a sought-after actress". Yet, her first movie role was in 1952. So what did she do in those 11 years, and why did Conrad Hilton marry her in 1942? She got her first movie role at age 34! That's really late for a "star". But she can't be much younger because she won "Miss Hungary" at age 19. Ok, maybe a couple of years. I can make Wikipedia say that the moon is made of cheese if I want to, via a login...it's a useful site but take it with a pinch of salt.

Tim Farriss -> Kevin Bacon -> Pharrell Williams -> Peaches Geldof.Orri Vigfússon -> Prince Charles -> Michelle Mone -> Peaches Geldof Adolf Hitler -> Mother Theresa -> Kevin Bacon -> Peaches Geldof -> Mornington Crescent I understand the need to get Kevin Bacon in, but I fail to see the link between him and the Witch of Calcutta.regards, Hein Does it matter? I played the Euston Square advantage. Anyway I got to Mornington Crescent, so I won No, she lived and died in Wrotham, Kent which is not on the underground system and she would have to use a surface line to connect to Euston Via Sevenoaks, change at Swanley for London Bridge... And from London Bridge, it's a short distance on the Northern Line to Mornington Crescent. I'm sorry I haven't a clue as to what you are all going on about.

To be honest, as a citizen of a country where royal titles, peerages and knighthoods were abolished decades ago, I have to confess that I am not the greatest fan of the royal family. For me, Prince Phillip always seemed like a lucky but utterly useless halfwit, who married well but didn't really have a proper job (or genuine achievements) at any time in his life, and someone who (along with his grandkid Harry) periodically embarasses the countries of which his wife is a sovereign with his gaffes and stupidity. I also knew that he was already well decorated, so what does a 456th medal/title even mean to him? And knowing that his wife is the sovereign of Australia, I thought that he would be knighted either by her or his own son, Charles, which seemed like a ridiculous idea. All in all, it may not be unusual, but for me, it seemed like a waste of a perfectly good opportunity to honour someone with... well, some actual achievements or efforts put into making Australia a better place. I'm putting you on my list of enemies... Now that is a true honour.

Member Spade_Cooley infamously stated earlier in this thread, "Hey noobs, what'll happen in your first week is you post here then someone will call you a cunt for starting a thread about something we already have a thread about or posting a death in the wrong topic. Don't take that personal, it's kinda like really ineffectual hazing". Well, I've been a member here since the 6th of January ( 7 whole fun-filled days!) with a userpic that apparently looks to some like an American outlaw and it was suggested today that perhaps I should intro myself here - in the correct thread for doing so. I feel welcome here already as in my brief tenure I have been told with some conviction that I had posted in the wrong thread, asked if I was an "actual, you know, human being?", had it suggested that I was "possibly the forums (sic) most "robotic poster" or a human with the personality characteristics of a well used blow up doll" and then been referenced with great British sarcasm in a comment about the forum "certainly attracting some high quality posters nowdays". That was after it was suggested that I conduct a search before posting next time and misspelled a gallant defenders name in my reply to him which resulted in a prediction that I would soon be called "a massive **** now". My apologies again, Dr. Zorders, and I appreciate you not yet calling me a massive derogatory anatomical anything yet. I'll note my first days here as normal, take no offense, make myself welcome and attempt to post significant and appropriate contributions to these forums. Oh, I'm a Yank from the Carolinas with an interest in death and dying and a bad obsession with history/politics and pop culture. I also collect vintage photography and images and hence my userpic will likely change frequently to reflect my moods and temperament.
