I'd say yes but not all of them (i.e. not all young people). An observation based on the fact that my working life puts me in touch with a lot of those who are insatiable readers and fairly wide readers at that - and who genuinely love paper books, preferring them over Kindles and the like.

Get the feeling if guests could still post there'd be a "Dead" comment in Sandy Gall's thread right about now.

On a few Star Wars sites (yes, I was looking for Last Jedi spoilers), fans are saying that as well as all her drug and alcohol problems, Carrie drank six cans of Coca Cola every day. It seems it was a miracle she lived as long as she did. Leia succumbed to the evil Empire in the end - of the Coca Cola Company.

Having seen this in the By-Election Bingo, I was hoping it bear fruit. I'll be taking part. Just one question to see if I've understood correctly... Say I predict the Lib Dems gain a seat from the Tories. If that comes true, I get 150% of the 2015 majority, if the Tories lose to Labour instead I still get 100% of the 2015 majority and if the Tories hold the seat I get nothing. Correct? Sorry if I'm being dense. On the general election discussion I have thoughts I'll share...but when I'm more awake.

My wife turned to me during her mother's funeral and hissed, "When we get home later, I'm going to make you fucking pay for this!" For the life of me I couldn't think of what I had done wrong. Maybe it's because I wasn't sharing my popcorn.

Thank you all for your thoughtful wishes. It's so kind. He is still lingering, obviously putting up a fight. I have reached out to other very good friends and ex-relatives I had not spoken to for years and when comparing notes, we all feel something is not quite right here with the situation with his girlfriend. He had told us all that he while he valued this woman he also valued his independence too and he would never make a full commitment to her. They don't even cohabit. I'm afraid it kicked off slightly at the hospital today when a friend visited and questioned why my daughter was not listed as next of kin. The girlfriend stormed out cussing. My daughter has said her goodbyes and left a card for her dad if he ever wakes up. She will return once her dad is able to speak to her. She can't face being stuck in a room surrounded by monitors bleeping and all the time this woman is there making it obvious my daughter is not welcome. A cynical person might think she's after his money and I think they'd be right. More fool him for boasting about a retirement nest egg. I can't see how he has any cash stashed away as he's long since drunk it all. Time will tell though.

Well, given I was wrong about Brexit on here, wrong about the last election, and if I could be bothered to go look, probably wrong about the Indy Ref too. In that case... I can't see beyond a Tory landslide. Theresa May is 100% going to be PM after June. There.

Alive a month ago. Also, even if he died in the same week the Queen abdicated while an asteroid hit Mexico and Elvis rode a T-Rex down the Strand, he'd still get a Herald obit at the very least.
