Iain registering as his alter ego here was one of the greatest own goals in site history. Otherwise we'd never have connected Iain to Cecilia Bartholemew.

I'm really in 2 minds on whether to follow him on Twitter or not. I just might troll him for a change.

Yes, because the head of the Royal Family is the head of state, and the BBC is the state broadcaster. Guess who they may be inclined to tell first?
  11. 2 points
Not really, no. Not hurt any planned audio work as he's apparently been persona non grata with Big Finish Productions for several years now. Was however unable to contribute to the recent Season 8 boxset DVD extras as he was "very ill". This was filmed before his first hospital stay in October so its a long term issue. Reading between lines, lung or heart, but no evidence to hand.

Michael Gudinski, a noted promoter in the Australian music scene and the man who launched Kylie Minogue's career, has died. He was 68. https://www.adelaidenow.com.au/entertainment/music/australian-music-industry-in-shock-as-michael-gudinski-passes-away-aged-68/news-story/9e1288da263be4f5de7a41f939b6ffe8

I see his Twitter alter ego has come to the attention of journalists before. I wonder if they'd be interested in exposing who he is seeing as they have the ability to uncloak prominent trolls. It would make for one of these comical tabloid stories "EXPOSED: Housebound man Iain, 33, assumes online identity of an 80 year old Tory lady called Cecilia from his council flat – pretends to be personal friend of the Queen". Might ping it on to a few of my journo mates and see if they want to pick it up.

Lunch break mystery... (yeah, that's what I do as almost the only one in my department to not be working from home). I caught this story in the Guardian about Chinese billionaires kicking out British millionaires of newly acquired golf clubs: https://www.theguardian.com/news/2021/mar/02/wentworth-golf-club-reignwood-yan-bin In the article, I stumbled across Sir Stanley Simmons, former physician of the queen, supposedly still alive in his 80s. Only, he's been dead since 2017: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/thetimes-uk/obituary.aspx?n=stanley-clifford-simmons&pid=185691622 And the article had already been run by the Guardian in 2016: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/feb/20/battle-for-wentworth-golf-club-surrey-super-rich So yeah, they altered the article slightly, put a new author on top, but didn't remember to check their quotations. (I'm kind of considering talking to the author on his twitter account later) Edit: Well, the author is an author and actually relevant historian at the University of Cambridge... Jesus, you'd think he'd be a little more careful.

Erminia Motika, mother of celebrity / TV cook Lidia Bastianich, has died about two weeks ago at 100: https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/chef-lidia-bastianichs-beloved-mother-grandma-died.html/ Most marginal person I ever allowed in the Death By Numbers. Picked last year.

Gets out of hospital next week, looking exactly like the corpse he did when he went in. Confounds 30+ pages of tedious speculation here (particular emphasis on fucking repeaty tweety shit) and lives until well into next year. Then carks it overnight on 1st April 2022 without a single sign beforehand making us all look like the fools we so clearly are. Oh how we'll look back and laugh.

The picture in that article is from September 2019 or am I missing something more recent?
