They form a complete story. I would suggest reading the other two first. Though the BBC adaptation is very good if you want to cheat.

Nothing trivial, I hope. See above about that fucking interview. The whole handwringing about that fucking Diana (a person more annoying than the Markle talk!) interview from 1995. For 25 years no one gave a shit how they got her in that room, it was all "boo hoo poor Diana, Charlie's shagging about (lets ignore the mutual shagging about)" which only intensified post-1997 when she was dead. I remember the press digging into her in summer 1997 as a twit shacked up with Al-Fayed, and overnight she turned into The Peoples Princess (TM). Then, after dining out on that interview for quarter of a century, suddenly the same press are all "Oh wasn't it immoral how they did it?" Fuck off. Bunch of useless hypocrites, the lot of them. imo Diana "there were three in our marriage if you ignore mine" was one hell of a politician and PR mind, and still has them eating out of her hand over 20 years after she died because she couldn't be bothered to wear a fucking seatbelt. But they can fuck off with the pretend handwringing about false bank statements, the lot of them - the media - got what they wanted in 1995 out of it. Bit far too late now. imo, anyhow. Anyhow, Martin Bashir has always struck me as a jumped up no talent gobshite promoted well beyond his means on TV, but other opinions are available...

Some politicians may be full of crap, but that list has a couple of horrible names: 2. Francisco Morales-Bermúdez (b. 1921) Military dictator. Life imprisonment for "forced disappearances", a nicer word for ordering murders and the disposal of the corpses of the victims. 3. Luis Echeverria (b. 1922) Had a role in the 1968 Tlatelolco massacre and the 1971 Corpus Christi massacre, the later happened during his tenure. Halcones death squads. Political opponents tortured and assasinated. "Forced disappearances". Cartel connections in his family. Charged with genocide but federal court ordered his absolute freedom in 2009. 4. Khamtai Siphandon (b. 1924) Unelected dictator of a one-party country. According to Amnesty, Lao People's Army kills and rapes civilians. During Siphandon's presidency, 30 young people were arrested for protesting peacefully and sentenced to 10 years in jail. One died in jail. Not as horrible as Sayasone, but still a horrible dictator. 6. Kenneth Kaunda (b. 1924) Freedom fighter but also a despot who ruled for nearly 30 years. 8. Lubomír Štrougal (b. 1924) Prime Minister of Czechoslovakia 1970-1988. During his tenure, the secret service obtained forced "confessions" by means of torture, including the use of psychoactive drugs, blackmail and kidnapping. 9. Guillermo Rodríguez (b. 1924) Military dictator but apparently great for the country's development. 10. Ali Hassan Mwinyi (b. 1925) Another African despot. Corrupted. 12. Mahathir Mohamad (b. 1925) Ancient antisemite, anti-LGBT racist, claimed that muslims have the right to kill millions of French people. 13. Yang Hyong-sop (b. 1925) Pro-nuclear weapons North Korean former Presidium Chairman 18. Abdoulaye Wade (b. 1926) Corrupted nepotist, tried to constraint the press. 19. Jiang Zemin (b. 1926) Became the leader of China after the Tiananmen protests, before that closed a newspaper for reporting about the protests. 24. Arturo Armando Molina (b. 1927) Attempted to silence opposition, murdered dissidents and priests. 27. Kim Yong-nam (b. 1928) Good friend of the Kims. 37. Zhu Rongji (b. 1928) Another Chinese leader. 41. Sam Nujoma (b. 1929) Freedom fighter/despot And that's just some of the ones in the top 50!

Grumpy Cat , the legendary cat with a permanently frowny expression who has found fame as a meme and a YouTube sensation and whose real name was Tardar Sauce , died of an urinary tract infection on this date in 2019 at the age of 7. And suddenly... life will no longer be possible. Because... life is tough enough as it is, you know?

With a couple of teams possibly close to victory, time to take a minute to pay respects to my team member (!) Eric Edwards -- the only person to appear in a porn movie in his teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. He may not have brought about world peace or won a Nobel prize, but in a 50 year career he demonstrably made a lot of women very happy and helped bring pleasure to millions of people as a result. Respect.

It's a bit odd. You can use it to let people make you an offer below the asking price which you are not obliged to accept but it is usually when people want to avoid a bidding war so they will make you their top offer to keep others out

This has probably already been said, but 24hr news channels and hourly news updates on the TV / radio. Do we really need to be constantly told about how crap or otherwise things are? With the rise of the web it's easier to find out what's happening than turning on the TV et al. I found out about Phil's death on here - short and concise.

Watched the tribute to Johnny Briggs on ITV earlier, hoping for some form spotting on the older cast members. No sign of Julie Goodyear, Barbara Knox or Bill Roache who i thought might have made an appearance (not sure we can read much into that, what with there being a pandemic on), but I thought Goodyear would've had something to say if she was up to it. Amanda Barrie featured on it, looking and sounding pretty good, even though she did raise a glass to Briggs and said "see you soon, probably, in the Rovers bar in the sky". Also, any recent news on John Savident (Fred Elliott)? He must be over 80, I say he must be over 80, and wasn't exactly the picture of health 20 years ago!
