7 pointsEileen Ash is 110 today. The first sporting supercentenarian? Certainly the last cricketer to have overlapped the life of W G Grace who died in 1915.

3 pointsConsidering his father and father's father didn't get to 70 and his mother died at 74 or 75 and he's now 71, I'm betting that he'll die in his 70s. Still quite active and seems to be able to walk without assistance, however Bahrain's UN General Assembly speech was done by the foreign affairs minister this year.

2 pointsRemember three days ago, I suggested Brian Morris, minor golf player with stage iv cancer. Well now I suggest Michael Graydon, Irish Poker Player with lifetime earnings of over $600.000. He has stage iv brain cancer and "there's nothing the doctors can do": https://www.pokernews.com/news/2021/10/poker-terminal-cancer-wsop-main-event-40143.htm https://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=94758 Just like Brian Morris got to the PGA finals because of cancer, Michael Graydon might just make it to the WSOP finals.

2 pointsThere's been no indication that she isn't well enough. Quite the reverse - they've said she's determined to be there.

1 pointBtw, is there a celebrity engagement/marriage thread? This way, we could cover the whole coupling/baby/split (-death) cycle.
-
1 pointHmm... Trump's eskimo brother then. Isn't that kind of family/fringe, too? Edit: Ah yes, it's posted there, too.

1 pointMy guess is she doesn't feel up to being on her feet for as long as she is used to and they hope in a couple of weeks to see an improvement before deciding whether to further scale back her duties. This is not unexpected for someone at her age who has also had the added toll of recently becoming a widow. Despite scaling back her public appearances, at 97 her Mum attended Dianas funeral walking with a cane and made it to 101. We should probably expect as time goes on to see the Queen seated more often in public and when meeting dignitaries etc with Charles taking the lead on more of the larger Ceremonial duties.

1 pointItalian actor and model Rossano Rubicondi has died age 49. He is also the fourth husband of Ivana Trump. The tweet is apparently incorrect in saying ex husband because their divorce wasn't finalised according to other media reports.

1 pointCompared to many, probably half of the current monarchs, she's in great health. Qatar's former Emir, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani got a kidney transplant in 1997, has been in failing health for a decade due to multiple health issues (including kidney troubles) and survived covid last year. He's used a walking stick for ages and he's younger than Charles. Morocco's Mohammed VI is even younger (58) but has been ill a lot: Rotavirus and acute dehydration in 2009, bronchitis and an "acute illness", fever of 39.5 degrees in 2014, a "flu syndrome with bronchopulmonary and oropharyngeal disease" in 2015, hospitalised with heart issues and had a heart surgery in 2018, unable to attend Chirac's funeral in 2019 due to a viral lung infection and another heart surgery in 2020. And there's Saudi Arabia's demented stroke survivor King Salman, Thailand's playboy-former drug user king Vajiralongkorn who spent time in ICU in May and who is rumored to have a blood disease (Leukemia, HIV or Hepatitis C) and on top of all of these, UAE's monarch-president Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who has been a zombie since suffering a stroke in 2014. I'd say that she'll go on for around 2-4 years and there'll be a lot of monarchs dying during the next years.

1 pointOh?? I waste aware she had a reputation. To be honest first time I've heard of her. I dare say this case will receive a lot of tabloid attention.

1 pointCamille Saviola, a Woody Allen favourite, appearing in Broadway Danny Rose and The Purple Rose Of Cairo but also in Addams Family Values and Last Exit To Brooklyn, reportedly dead: https://deadline.com/2021/10/camille-saviola-dead-obituary-star-trek-deep-space-nine-broadway-actor-was-71-1234864824/ Played the not insignificant role of Kai Opaka in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and you know what I'm going to say - a Scavvy Hunt miss. 1 pointLast year, #50 was Peter Sutcliffe. It's really kind of a "joker" slot. Who knows, maybe there'll be a terminally ill killer coming out of the woodwork.

1 pointI found that suspicious as well. We had quite a few prominent chefs in cancer battles. Now, Fatima Ali and Andrew Fairlie had cancers -probably- unrelated to food/drink, but Sommelier Gerard Basset had esophageal cancer. When you google "chef stomach cancer" you find the "cook without stomach", Hans Rueffert. Or Sous-Chef and musician Abdul Zakir, cause of death: stomach cancer. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/article-abdul-zakir-had-a-knack-for-finding-the-inner-musician-in-everyone/ Or half a year ago, Westin Hotel executive chef Curtis Wolf: https://eu.greenvilleonline.com/story/news/local/2021/02/23/greenville-westin-hotel-executive-chef-curtis-wolf-dead/4540013001/ There's also one of the world's most esteemed chefs, Grant Achatz, with stage IV tongue cancer.

1 pointDune is absolutely fantastic. The normally picky Mrs Biblo said she could not fault it.

1 pointSomething that's been getting on my nerves begrudgingly lately is announcing whether someone is or isn't vaccinated when they get COVID-19 and hospitalised. I could be entirely wrong here in my frustration, but if you're getting hospitalised your vaccination status really goes out the window if we're using that to determine their current health. Just comes off as some subtle "vaccines don't work" propaganda. I'm not necessarily getting mad at you, more so the general discourse.

1 pointWell if nothing else we've established that there are 2 intelligent people on this forum who appreciate cricket.........
