For a minute there, when I saw unread content in this subforum, I thought someone on the list had died... then I saw that the two threads bumped were Leslie Phillips and QE2 and realised exactly the contrary.

After Liz Truss responds to the fairly xenophobic question “Is Macron a friend or foe” with an (on-brand) extraordinarily crass and thick answer of “Jury’s out”, Macron is asked about this. Warning for gammons: he’s speaking in foreign. Translation: "It is never good not to lose these bearings too much. The United Kingdom is a friendly nation, regardless of its rulers, sometimes in spite of its rulers.” I am not exactly a Macron cheerleader but credit where it’s due, this is a great, classy answer. And listen to the giggling before the answer. The UK is literally a laughing stock now.

Prince Richard , The Duke of Gloucester , Royal cousin to Queen Elizabeth ll and working member of the British Royal family for nearly 50 years celebrates his 78th birthday today. Like his wife, a very uncontroversial hard working member of the British monarchy . Patron of dozens of charities and has carried out many of the less publicised under the radar , unglamorous Royal engagements over the decades .

Small list of the oldest religious leaders with Wikipedia pages - born 1922 and before. Incomplete, and I might add 1923 and 1924 later. Bishops Manuel Edmilson da Cruz (1924), Serafín Luis Alberto Cartagena Ocaña (1924) and Gaetano Bonicelli (1924) not included, no English wiki page. Saifur Rahman Nizami not included - age fraud. Ramadan Dib (1920) and Non Nget (1922) also not included due to lack of wiki page. Paul Mwazha (25 October 1918?) Zimbabwe Leader of the African Apostolic Church since he founded it in 1959. I've started to doubt his age, he doesn't look 103 at all and according to atleast one source he's 10 years younger, born 1928. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu (23 April 1919) Ghana Ancient Chief Imam of Ghana. Not completely sure if he's 103 either, but he sure looks like it and nothing points otherwise. Addold Mossin (12 December 1919 - 16 March 2024) Estonia Neopaganist priest. As far as I know hasn't been seen since he was in his 90s, but seems to be alive. Picture from 2016. The linked articles are paywalled so I can't see if there are further details there. But "cousin" isn't a term limited to first cousins, it can be pretty general. I have five first cousins, and a lot of other relatives who are cousins in various degrees, but I tend to refer to them as "my cousin" as frankly people aren't interested in whether they're first cousins once or twice removed, second cousins or whatever.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/5974030/daniella-westbrook-accused-stealing-10k/ I felt it was time to start a thread for troubled EastEnders legend Danniella Westbrook who is increasingly in the tabloid spotlight for her chaotic and trouble riven lifestyle. Reports in recent weeks allude to a possible major drift back towards drug addiction and now she is apparently wanted by the police on suspicion of stealing £10,000 of a friend and launching a malicious trolling campaign against them. She's sadly an absolute car wreck who seems to be dangerously going off the rails. As the actress who played the original Sam Mitchell in one of EastEnders most iconic families I felt she deserved her own thread.

On this day in 2001 american singer, actress and dancer Aaliyah died aged just 22 in a plane crash in the Bahamas. Despite having died at such a young age, within such a short career she won praise for helping to redefine contemporary rhythm and blues, pop and hip hop music. This earned her nicknames such as the Queen of Urban pop and the Princess of R+B. Spookily to me her last film ,released posthumously , was a vampire film titled Queen of the Damned. In recent years there has been strong evidence revealed in court that she was sexually abused by singer and now convicted sex offended R Kelly.

In the CA birth records, there is a Donald R. Smith born September 17, 1924 in Kern County. This Smith has a brother named J (yes, his name was just J). J is listed in the records as born in Los Angeles County on August 29, 1915, the same date as Jay R. Smith, the Our Gang actor who was Beezer's brother. So we can conclude this Donald R. Smith is Beezer. Based on the 2011 comment on the Our Gang wiki by the woman claiming to be Beezer's daughter, he was then living in Dade City, FL. Was this post true? Probably. There's a Don Smith with Beezer's exact date of birth who was still on the record living there this year. So this dead Smith has the same name and same month of birth, and died in Dade City. Yeah, I would say it is probably our man.
