Well, it’s been a long one. Heck of a lot of talent and toot in equal measure in this game, but in the end, rather aptly for Kill or Save, Murder wins! 207 murders have happened on this dancefloor, now let us all strip off and go wild for our latest winner, Sophie Ellis-Bextor! She ain’t half had a good year, and fair fucks to her, MOTD (not off of football) has aged like a fine wine. Here she is to play us out, though this is best enjoyed with added Barry Keoghan arse cheeks on Amazon Prime. This is how things stacked up in the end: Sophie Ellis-Bextor — Murder On The Dancefloor Mark Ronson ft. Amy Winehouse — Valerie Kylie Minogue — Love At First Sight Coldplay — In My Place Gorillaz — Feel Good Inc. Manic Street Preachers — Your Love Alone Is Not Enough Wheatus — Teenage Dirtbag Adele — Chasing Pavements Razorlight — Somewhere Else Coldplay — Speed Of Sound Kylie Minogue — On A Night Like This Pink — Get The Party Started Oasis — Stop Crying Your Heart Out Kelis — Trick Me Busted — Year 3000 Corinne Bailey Rae — Put Your Records On Manic Street Preachers — The Love Of Richard Nixon Justin Timberlake — Cry Me A River Daft Punk — One More Time Plain White T’s — Hey There Delilah Taylor Swift — Love Story Dido — White Flag Kate Nash — Foundations Jeff Buckley — Hallelujah James Morrisson ft. Nelly Furtado — Broken Strings Some of us haven’t been best pleased with the quality of the music in this final group. To them I say: wise up, dickheads. It could be a hell of a lot worse. This fucking lot for starters - the worst 25 of the game: Westlife — What Makes A Man Martine McCutcheon — I’m Over You Ronan Keating — Lovin’ Each Day Steps — The Way You Make Me Feel True Steppers, Dane Bowers & Victoria Beckham — Out Of Your Mind One True Voice — Sacred Trust / After You’re Gone Shane Richie — I’m Your Man Cheeky Girls — Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) Jay-Z ft. Beyoncé — Bonnie & Clyde Fast Food Rockers — Fast Food Song 4-4-2 — Come On England Busted — Air Hostess Westlife ft. Diana Ross — When You Tell Me That You Love Me Duncan James & Keedie — I Believe My Heart Ronan Keating — She Believes In Me Lee Mead — Any Dream Will Do Cliff Richard — 21st Century Christmas/Move It Shayne Ward — No Promises Pussycat Dolls ft. Will.I.Am — Beep Shayne Ward — No U Hang Up / If That’s OK With You Geraldine McQueen — The Winners Song Westlife — What About Now Nickelback — Rockstar Sugababes — Get Sexy Robbie Williams — Bodies So, that’s another lot of the UK No.2s done! Thank you so much to all who join in, whether you’ve been here since day 1, have joined us recently or even just dip in and out. Love your work. Mostly. Now though, such is the scale of the beast that is Kill or Save, this party is about to go forth and multiply. I’m delighted to welcome @wannamaker as our estimable new gamerunner for the No.3s. He’s primed and ready to take us back to the 1970s to begin rifling through the songs that finished their chart climb the next rung down the ladder. Meanwhile, I will be doing a bit of gap filling (insert meme here). It’s time we gave the 1950s and the 2010s the attention they (arguably) deserve. 2010s No.1s are up first, which’ll run alongside Wannamaker’s No.3s of the 1970s. And 1980s. And maybe 1990s; it’s a big fuck off list. Once we’re all caught up, we’ll change tack and look at doing themed rounds - the possibilities are endless here! Anyway, enough jibber-jabber from me; our workload has just doubled. Let’s go Killing and Saving!

Hello again! Welcome to edition number 13 of Kill or Save! Unlucky for some? Just the ones who can’t stand newer music. We’re going great guns in our quest to rifle through everything that has found itself the top end of the UK singles charts, and we’ve just expanded our mission! Having completed the No.1s and No.2s from the 1960s through to the 2000s, we’re both moving on to No.3s (with host @wannamaker) AND going back and covering the two decades we’ve until this point ignored: the 1950s and the 2010s. This game right here? The No.1 hits of the 2010s. Fancy reliving all the action? See below for links to all Kill or Save games to date: 50s No.1s; 60s No.1s; 70s No.1s; 80s No.1s; 90s No.1s; 00s No.1s; 10s No.1s (you are here) 50s No.2s; 60s No.2s; 70s No.2s; 80s No.2s; 90s No.2s; 00s No. 2s; 10s No.2s 70s No.3s; 80s No.3s; 90s No.3s (IN PLAY!) Christmas Special 2023; Christmas Special 2024 (IN PLAY!) So, the 2010s. So recent, and yet so…not. The X Factor was a thing back then and now isn’t (thank fuck). Corona was still only either a beer or a eurodance group from the 90s. TikTok was just a Ke$ha song. Threads were just clothes. AI was just a big bloke in the pub who sat there every day from 10:30am. And the music…the music was…yeah…better than the charts would suggest, I’d say. Never mind. We’ve got a lot of killing to do. This’ll be a fun and wholly cathartic exercise. Yeah Yeah, Rules Schmules: Each song starts with 20 points (whether it deserves it or not). You can vote once a day. Since we all live in different parts of the world with all sorts of different timezones, please add a date at the top of your votes to avoid any confusion (e.g. 6/5/24, Mon 6 May, etc.). Each day you may add up to 4 points to and subtract 6 points from any songs in the current round. You can split your points between as many songs as you like. You must use all six minus points unless it's a round-ending turn, and you must give at least one plus point. Placeholder posts are allowed, but if you don't edit your votes within 5 minutes, then the next person can go and do their votes. Consecutive votes are not allowed. Before voting, please listen to the songs of each round and vote according to your own opinions, don't vote for songs because they're high/low on the board or because of your opinions about the artist, only the song matters. Make sure you copy and paste the most recent voter's scoreboard when you take your turn to score. For your own ease, ‘paste as plain text’ to get rid of the previous poster’s formatting. Then, delete their +/- scores, add yours, adjust the song’s points total and make your scores bold. As an example: 24 List Topper — Diego’s Nightmare +4 20 Didn’t Listen — Dump Me Later 20 The Ignored — Nobody Knows Me 19 Deckchair Shufflers — Faffing About -1 16 Drivel — Dreck 15 Bottom Of The Pile — Diego’s Favourite -5 And once again, from the heart of my bottom, thanks so much to our careful and attentive players who spot and correct any errors that arise (we're only human, after all). The game runs sweet as a nut thanks to you. See, below, the complete list of 244 UK No.1 songs from the 2010s. Lord have mercy on your earholes. And if you’ve been affected by any issues raised by this, the Samaritans are always there at the end of the phone for you. Call free on 116 123. As usual, we’ll go through 5 group stages, beginning with the No.1 hits of 2010/11, followed by a grand final consisting of the 25 songs that have qualified, where we will ultimately decide what the undisputed best chart topper of the 2010s is, and the artist(s) of said song can and will enjoy a TikTok revival and at least a few more minutes of being relevant. 2010/11: 65 songs - the last 6 songs will make the final 2012/13: 65 songs - the last 6 songs will make the final 2014/15: 61 songs - the last 6 songs will make the final 2016/17: 24 songs - the last 3 songs will make the final 2018/19: 29 songs - the last 4 songs will make the final So gang, oil up and get your extra-large, ultra-realistic, double-ended scythes at the ready, for it’s time…to Kill or Save.

Hello everyone, and welcome to the 12th(!) edition of Kill or Save here on the deathlist forums. It's been a while since I hosted one of these, so I hope I haven't forgotten how to do it properly . Firstly, I'd like to thank @TQR for doing a fantastic job hosting the Number 2's. He did wonders hosting these games, so please give him some praise. So, we are starting the Number 3's with the 70's. As you can see, I'm really shit at doing intros, so I might as well begin this. If you want to see how the previous games unfolded, here's the links to all of them: 60s No.1s; 70s No.1s; 80s No.1s; 90s No.1s; 00s No.1s 60s No.2s; 70s No.2s; 80s No.2s; 90s No.2s; 00s No. 2s Christmas Special 2023 KoS HoF The Rolling Stones — Paint It, Black Donna Summer — I Feel Love Nena — 99 Red Balloons Madonna — Vogue Gorillaz — Dare The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl — Fairytale Of New York Barry Ryan — Eloise Queen — Somebody To Love A-Ha — Take On Me The Cardigans — Lovefool Sophie Ellis-Bextor — Murder On The Dancefloor You probably know the rules already, but here they are regardless: Each song starts with 20 points. You can vote once a day. Since we all live in different parts of the world with all sorts of different timezones, please add a date at the top of your votes to avoid any type of confusion (e.g. 6/5/24, 6th of May, Mon 6 May, etc.). Each day you can give 4 points and subtract 6 points to any song on the board, you can split your points between as many songs as you want. Placeholder posts are allowed, but if you don't edit your votes within 5 minutes, then the next person can go and do their votes. Consecutive votes are not allowed. Make sure you copy and paste the most recent voter's scoreboard when you take your turn to score. For your own ease, ‘paste as plain text’ to get rid of the previous poster’s formatting. Then, delete their +/- scores, add yours, adjust the song’s points total and make your scores bold. As an example, here's a random vote from last game's finale: 45 Sophie Ellis-Bextor — Murder On The Dancefloor 43 Mark Ronson ft. Amy Winehouse — Valerie 40 Kylie Minogue — Love At First Sight 26 Gorillaz — Feel Good Inc. 25 Coldplay — In My Place +4 15 Manic Street Preachers — Your Love Alone Is Not Enough -6 Here are the UK No.3 songs of the 70's: There are 5 qualifying rounds, we begin with the no.3 hits of 1970/71, then 72/73 and so on. From each round, 4,5, or 7 songs will enter the Grand Final, where we will decide the "best" UK No. 3 Hit of the 70's 1970/71: 21 songs: the last 4 songs will enter the final 1972/73: 27 songs: the last 5 songs will enter the final 1974/75: 25 songs: the last 5 songs will enter the final 1976/77: 20 songs: the last 4 songs will enter the final 1978/79: 33 songs: the last 7 songs will enter the final So with that out of the way, let's begin the killing and saving!

I've found some additional actors who portrayed minor characters in the trilogy: Michael Elsworth (b. 1932, IMDb) Gondorian Archivist / Cirdan the Shipwright Peter Corrigan (b. 1950, IMDb) Otho Sackville Peter McKenzie (1943–2023, IMDb) Elendil - He married Deirdre Tarrant CNZM (b. 1946, wiki) in 1971 (McKenzie is named as Peter Leo McKenzie). Their son is Bret McKenzie (b. 1976, wiki), who portrayed an elf in Rivendell / Figwit in the original trilogy. - I've found a possible match: an obituary from the New Zealand Herald for Peter Leo McKenzie, who passed away on September 9, 2023 in Melbourne "in his eightieth year". One commenter below references his role as Elendil and states "We enjoyed time together on Lord Of The Rings". Edit: there's a Find A Grave page for him, is birthdate is given as August 10, 1943. Bruce Allpress (1930–2020, IMDb) Aldor; an elderly man from Rohan. He accidentaly fires his bow at the start of the Battle of Helm's Deep before the command is given, resulting in the first fatality of the battle.

The final Lord of the Rings film was released over 20 years ago and the death of Bernard Hill today means that 3 of the principal cast are gone, with a further half a dozen supporting actors also dead: Noel Appleby (1933–2007) Everard Proudfoot Martyn Sanderson (1938–2009) Bree Gate-keeper Elizabeth Moody (1939–2010) Lobelia Sackville-Baggins Alan Howard CBE (1937–2015) The One Ring (voice) Sir Christopher Lee CBE (1922–2015) Saruman Bill Johnson (1924–2016) Old Noakes Alistair Browning (1954–2019) Damrod Sir Ian Holm CBE (1931–2020) Bilbo Baggins Bernard Hill (1944–2024) Théoden, King of Rohan Here are the living actors who are 70 or older: Norman Forsey (b. 1937) Gaffer Gamgee David Weatherley (b. 1939) Barliman Butterbur Sir Ian McKellen CBE (b. 1939) Gandalf John Rhys-Davies (b. 1944) Gimli Bruce Spence (b. 1945) Mouth of Sauron John Bach (b. 1946) Madril John Noble (b. 1948) Denethor, Steward of Gondor Brad Dourif (b. 1950) Gríma Wormtongue Bruce Phillips (b. 1951) Grimbold Paul Norell (b. 1952) King of the Dead Nathaniel Lees (b. 1952) Ugluk I'll add other big cast members (e.g. Sean Bean, Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett etc.) once they're old enough to merit any kind of attention. Not going to do lists for The Hobbit trilogy, the animated series, radio series, or any other spin offs but this topic can be used to report their deaths too.

A perfect example of this will be found in a future game, the 10s No.2s.
