I was sure I had already updated this pool, turns out I only updated the scoreboard in page 1 and I forgot to do an update post So sorry for not checking earlier. Ok, here's the update for these last few months: Former Labour MP for the defunct constituencies of Nelson and Colne & Warrington, and House of Lords member Doug Hoyle has also gone defunct aged 98, his death gives @Thatcher 2 points (1 for position +1 for a unique pick). French Minister of Foreign Affairs during Mitterrand's presidency Roland Dumas est mort. Dumas also helped Spain regain Picasso's Guernica. In a similar way, his death helps @CaptainChorizo gain 9 points with his death (8 for position + 1 for a unique pick). Republican representative from California Pete McCloskey has died aged 96. He challenged Nixon in the Republican primaries and then called for his impeachment, and he also co-founded Earth Day. @Prophet gets 8 points (7 for position +1 for a unique pick). Longest serving Oklahoma senator Jim Inhofe is a hit for @ThereWillBeDeaths7 & @Steve (they get 5 & 1 point respectively). Can't say I know much about Mr. Inhofe, but the fact that most obits mention his climate change denial speaks volumes. Now we get to the 3 big deaths that all happened in April. They were all picked by various users, so to save time I won't @ anyone. First we have Zhang Lixiong, a Chinese supercentenarian who served as a deputy in the 70s. His death also happened when I had just started taking Chinese classes, so he helped me learn how to pronounce the "zh" and "xi" sounds correctly. 6 users get points with his death. Next we have Josip Manolic, he was a communist revolutionary in his youth, and he served as the last Prime Minister of Croatia before they declared their independence from Yugoslavia. He continued to be involved in Croatian politics following the Yugoslav wars, and he died at the old age of 104. 14 electoral deadpoolers gain points with his passing. And finally, we get the biggest hit of them all (until a certain peanut farmer carks it), labour MP Frank Field. He served as the MP for Birkenhead for 40 years and was awarded a Life Peerage after losing the 2019 election. He was also appointed as Tony Blair's Minister for Welfare Reform, which he served for a little over a year. He entered hospice care in 2021, and after 3 years of him somehow staying alive, he finally passed away aged 81. 24 punters obtain precious points. This is the scoreboard after this long overdue update: MariNisia- 24 DoorSlammer- 24 drol- 22 ThereWillBeDeaths7- 20 Thatcher- 18 gcreptile- 17 Dying Probably- 16 Funeralopolis- 16 The Daredevil- 16 Heef- 15 Bibliogryphon- 13 Imelda- 13 LizLemon- 13 diego- 12 Summer in Transylvania- 11 CaptainChorizo- 10 Johnnas- 10 MalePoster- 10 Prophet- 10 Steve- 10 Brad252- 9 DeathBecomesThem- 9 DeathByArsenic- 9 Great Uncle Bulgaria- 9 Hell- 9 Commtech Sio Bibble- 8 Sod's Law- 8 theoldlady- 8 The Immortal- 6 The Old Crem- 6 ladyfiona- 4 Everyone else- 0 Please inform me if I missed anything; I promise I won't take as long for the next update .

Ah, a return to our international rules and obligations, how refreshing.

Angela Rayner is an advocate of British Sign Language lessons being provided for free to parents of deaf children and knows BSL herself. Look how far we've come in a week.

I've said before, a "like" reaction isn't enough for some posts. Can we have a "love", please? @Death Impends @Paul Bearer (This was for the Rayner/Jenkyns post)

She looks fine. I'd say going from looking 45 to looking 60 would be a bad thing, if that didn't still mean she looks decades younger than her age.

Interesting point, because she started badly the perception hasn't been great but the shortest route to re-jigging the ticket is to put her first because that means they can legitimately use the funds already raised. I've heard a few commentators suggesting she's grown into the role to the point she'd be a good president and - more to the point - a black woman with a sharp mind debating Trump might well work to swing the crucial undecided voters and win back the ethnic minorities who've slowly trickled to Trump over the last four years. The job is to beat Trump, whatever the ins and outs, Biden's chances on that one job are clearly decreasing.

I just accidentally opened the first page of this thread. Made me laugh.

Is it me or is the real problem with Biden's potential frailty that the fear is that the US could end up with President Harris by default and this has been sown in the minds of voters. I will admit her visibility in the first term hasn't been great but she hasn't sexually assaulted anyone, committed fraud or advocated armed insurrection. Is there a whiff of misogyny about the whole thing - Hell she's not even Dan Quayle

I like living in a world where Ozzy got to survive into old age tbh? I'm sure fans of John Lennon or Marc Bolan or Rory Gallagher or countless others would have preferred that!

As someone who, ashamedly, does not know BSL, I'd like to say I do understand Andrea Jenkyns sign language but not Angela Rayner's.

Of the 3 non-affiliates expelled: Lord Conrad Black is 80 next month. Worth keeping an eye on, but I think fairly active elsewhere still? Lord Stanley Kalms is 93 in November. Lord Willoughby de Broke is 86 in September. Of the 3 Labour expelled: Jean Corston is 82. Bryan Davies is 85 in November. John Prescott is 86. Excluding Black who could just never be arsed turning up, expect at least half of these names to be dead by this time next year.

Completely agree with @Toast, there have been loads of posts where I'd have used a 'love' instead of a 'like' @Death Impends @Paul Bearer This doesn't mean I've stopped advocating adding a 'dickhead' reaction to clear up facepalm confusion, though. That's a good idea too if I say so myself

Stones are touring in North America at the moment. They post up the setlist after each show. Something I've noticed. Keith always does two songs in the middle of the set, which allows Mick to take a break. On this tour he's doing three songs. So I'm guessing Mick needs a bit longer to recharge these days.

as of today (july 9th) this current drought of 184 days is now the fourth longest ever, making it the longest drought in 22 years. (also for you wrestling nerds, the current drought is 4 days longer than kofi kingston's wwe title reign in 2019.)

I'm not sure. Parkinsons causes a lot more visible stiffness and sweating. I don't know her and I'm not a GP but I do have some knowledge of neurological conditions and it looks more to me like she has Ataxia, which causes profuse tremors, small involuntary jolts and slurred or shaky speech. It can be exacerbated by low blood sugar, stress and anxiety, and has loads of causes including thryoid problems. Depending on the cause, it shouldn't be life-threatening, but it can often be career limiting. I'd definitely bet on this being her last term as a member of parliament but she's not necessarily a goner anytime soon.

I also enjoyed her line about the importance of shadow cabinet meeting details not being leaked...in a shadow cabinet meeting leak.

I know it's five years now, but I saw her at a festival pre-pandemic, and I was in the second row, almost within touching distance. She came right down off the stage to high-five people. And she looked awesome. Not a scrap of cellulite, either. Can't really see much of her in that pic. She's doing a gig at Crystal Palace Bowl on 26 July, and a few other festival dates. I was hoping she'd turn up among the supports at Hyde Park, in which case I might have bought a ticket, but she didn't.
