Françoise Hardy

Recommended Posts

It is about time there was a specific thread for this French music icon. She has been fighting laryngeal cancer for years and has recently lost the ability to sing, owing to effects of cancer treatments.

In the below recent article, it explains how Hardy now needs help going to the toilet and is in a very fragile state at the moment, according to her son.

And in the following even more recent article, it is revealed Hardy feels too tired to come to see her son.

Sounds like she might decide to go the way of Jean-Luc Godard.

It might also be the case of Alain Delon, at a later date.

Delon will probably do it yes. He is so annoying for that, he is one of the healthiest 80´s currently living but spend his time complaining about being old.

For a french name in the official deathlist, Françoise Hardy would be a more interesting name than Jean-Marie Le Pen who seems still in good health

Le pen is not in good health. He’s declining quickly, looks frail, has appeared less than usual recently. Check his thread.

Yes not good health I didnt have seen the last photos ahah, but still publicly active, for example when he received all his neonazis friends to celebrate le front national at his home etc. I'm sure he could live ten years in a bed only for pleasure to have buried all old rival politics of his generation...

I think Françoise Hardy is not dying "in a natural way"

If she will die next year, it will probably be by euthanasia, so it's difficult to name her in the 2023 DL imo

79 today !

Thomas Dutronc said recently that she's frail and has no good quality of life but that her cancer is in remission…

So?

Prunella Scales “wasn’t doing well” 7 years ago. Neither was Joanne Woodward.

Likewise, you haven’t been “doing well” on DL Forums since joining in Oct 2020, and yet you persist.

To be fair not doing well with what seems to be cancer is prehaps more likely to be fatal relatively soojn than not doing well with dementia while still physically fit. Until a dementia sufferer is suffering physical issues - either linked or spreads to the dementia - it seems they not likely to be at a much higher risk of dying.

The more they complain the less they die.

Ie. Delon

but in her case, I can well see her getting assisted suicide out of nowhere in the upcoming 2 years

She says she can`t imagine being able to go abroad to get euthanized as she struggles to leave the house.

Also an article mentions she can`t eat which is clearly an exaggeration however with pharyngeal cancer swallowing complications are very common.

Even if she doesn`t kill herself the cancer could well get her (I cant see her accepting any more treatment if required) and even if not, she is still  prone to serious complications such as aspiration and infections due to a damaged immune system. Any respiratory infection or fall could well kill her due to her underlying frailty not too mention poor psychological reserve.

True but Marieke Vervoot was a notable exception.

She still looks quite elegant for someone who is nearly 80 and has terminal cancer, in that photo at least.
