Can we make a pact to not downvote anything presently in the top 12 and not to upvote anything below the top 12 so we can move this thing along.  TBH I think we all know what 7 or 8 songs are actually competing for the top 4 slots. I’d like to actually get to that point before St Pádraig’s Day. No one is going to ‘save’ any song presently below 20 points and you damn well know it.  We can fight over favourites later. KILL KILL KILL!

For me I am not surprised at TT no doing well in the competition format. Without going into the merits of the individual tracks they are here because they are Take That not because of the track quality. Later some might do better and I imagine Robbie Williams solo stuff might be better received but at the moment they are being treated as an overhyped boy band. I imagine the same (possibly even harsher) treatment will be dealt out to Boyzone and Westlife.

The test will be if actual good pop song Back for Good lasts or gets gubbed in the 94-95 one.

As for Boyzone and Westlife, harsher imo. Maybe Boyzone might do better than expected (though I don't know if the general praise for the late Stephen Gately and this forum is much of a united venn diagram) - but Westlife were and are a pox on the eardrums.

That's not the only returner, the Five Live EP also contains a George Michael cover of Adamski's Killer. It's in a strange mashup with Papa Was a Rollin' Stone.

Id never heard of them, but upon an initial listening the song Relight My Fire is ‘better than’ the pointless Pray choon.  That’s not a high bar lol.  But apparently even between these two, I’m wrong :-(

It was Take That which properly started off the boyband era and when they split up there were literal hotlines for girls to ring up for support. Without them we wouldn't have Boyzone, Westlife, A1 (who I think one member is the Norway entry from Eurovision last year). Then a few years later Spice Girls got things going with the girl groups.

Westlife I do admit are a one trick pony as 90% of the time they just sit on stools singing.
