There is so much shit in these 40+ songs. I really don't get the hate for Cher. It's an absolute banger. You really prefer Mi Chico Latino and When You Say Nothing at All? There's 4 B*Witched songs! We all know C'est la Vie is the only one in with a chance. Steps' Heartbeat hasn't even moved yet!  And don't get me started on all the trance music, but each to their own.

Don't think anyone is maintaining Britney is a great musical talent. That said, Baby One More Time is a great pop song (as is Toxic for that matter, have forgotten most of the rest). Not that I'm a perv of course, but I remember finding the video fairly agreeable at the time too.

Yeah I like the debate. I just find it that it has to be universally accepted that "baby one more time" and "toxic" are great, and I would be happier if those songs were done by a pop star with more agency.

Madonna's "frozen" is a great song with a mature direction that she sadly has regressed from.

And while Cher's song kicked off a whole awful autotune movement, she herself was just having fun, has proven she can actually sing, and I love the fact that she scored a hit as an older woman. Also she protested the Vietnam War instead of the whole "girls can't have opinions about war, tee hee" gimmick that Britney saddled the rest of us teen girls with. Britney is just an extremely negative 25 years of pop culture for me that I find suspicious. But I'm just supposed to find the songs fun and not notice the very odd things about her career and how it made music a bit dire.

I don't hate Cher, I hate that song. I don't get the love for it. As someone said, autotuned garbage.
