Apply for free voter ID now If you don't have accepted photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document, which is known as a Voter Authority Certificate (Opens in new window). The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate to vote in the Parliamentary general election on Thursday 4 July is 5pm on Wednesday 26 June. I read a rumour that you have to have your current address on photo ID.Assuming that's fake news?

You don't need address on whatever form of acceptable ID you use anyway, as stated, fake news. Checked here. (You never seem to bother with a source, so I will). I'd imagine more people will use a driving licence, which as it happens does have your address. But as above it's unnecessary. This however is an opinion, I have no data to back up this assumption, it's just a guess.

maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted May 27 So Mirror claim to have a leaked document (so, Sunak went as far as creating paperwork, then!) suggesting criminal action incl. possible jail for refusers of national service. So, once they fail to get into hollowed our forces - who haven't the manpower or resources to cope with the influx of gormless teens, we'll send them to the full-to-bursting prisons, after which they'll be so damaged mentally that our stretched-beyond-coping social services will have to cope. The only silver lining being any of these teens who have a few thousand social media followers might snag the kind of q/o that earns points in the low-hanging pools when their hellish journey finally drives them to off-themselves!

About 70% of people have one and it’s small and easy to carry. Many younger people will also use their provisional license (It’s the easiest form of universally accepted ID.) With pensioner bus passes accepted that will be a well used form of ID as well.

Philheybrookbay1 247 Posted May 27 As a football secretary, this plan would destroy more local football than anything else. It's the critical ages 16 to 18 when most lads stop the game, so to force them to do Rishis plan would loose thousands more from the game.

Just heard a BBC reporter say the National Service plan would involve 18 year olds signing up for the army for a year or volunteering one weekend a month for a year. I'm intrigued how this would work as 'children' become adults when they reach 18, and afaik, are no longer their parents' responsibility. Still, with the Tories chances of regaining power somewhat diminished, they could promise everyone a unicorn shitting rainbows without ever have to worry about the practicalities of implementation. 2
