morrisey 32 Posted January 1 What do you personally think the worst pick of this year was? Personally I think its a good year for choices but if I had to pick I would go with Pope Francis
Captain Hemlock 742 Posted January 1 This just my personal opinion but I think Robert Duvall should have been dropped.
The Old Crem 3,596 Posted January 1 Hard to pick one. Derek Draper in terms of fame but a few others in terms of health.
Genfærd 452 Posted January 1 Clint Eastwood is a fun choice, but I doubt he'll be gone this year.
RetroGamer47 429 Posted January 1 Aldrins a good choice in terms of age, but don’t really see him going this year

Superstar 295 Posted January 1 I think there is a high possibility that Josef Fritzl could die off the radar, with no obit. It's just a possibility though.

Estuarian Float 97 Posted January 1 Gonna say Pope Benedict XVI is probably the worst pick of 2024. 1
six feet blunder 161 Posted January 1 Dick Cheney i thought would have been one of the drops

He is still in prison so not likely. It would be announced officially or it would leak.
TheNashNetwork 10 Posted January 1 Bummed there's no Caren Marsh Doll on the list. I don't know if I can name someone specifically that I disagree with but the back half of the list feels almost silly. I think there's likely to be a lot of hits in the top half of the list though. Really wish they had put a couple of in office American political figures on here.
The Daredevil 1,189 Posted January 1 No bad picks IMO (pretty sure they'll all be dead by 2030). However, if I had to choose the worst pick of 2024, it would probably be Buzz Aldrin. He just got married again a year ago, has looked quite youthful for an nonagenarian in recent years, and remains very active on Twitter. A feeling it will be a tight race out of Wagner, Eastwood and Aldrin for the Last Survivor of the 2024 DL, and that they will all go around 2028. Buzz might squeak into 2029.

He'll get media coverage when he goes, and not just here in Austria.
BonScott 122 Posted January 1 Clint Eastwood - still acting and directing, and no known health issues
Windsor 2,233 Posted January 1 I don't think it would be a bad thing to have more people under the age of 90. Admittedly my shadow list has more centenarians than usual this year...
Lafaucheuse 4,050 Posted January 1 Derek Draper. Who is he anyway
Commtech Sio Bibble 2,039 Posted January 1 Robert Wagner is probably the one I'm least happy about. 11 minutes ago, Lafaucheuse said: Derek Draper. Who is he anyway Lobbyist who was part of a scandal in the UK in the late 90s but is now most famous for being married to a TV presenter and possibly having the worst case of long-COVID in the world.
Philheybrookbay1 247 Posted January 1 I'd go with Robert Wagner. There's a lot of wailing over Julie Walters but she's on my radar if only that she's gone very silent in recent months after many years in the public eye.
TQR 14,391 Posted January 1 Brigitte Bardot. Who is she anyway?
maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted January 1 Can't say I think there are any desperately bad ones on there - take the point about Draper above but his fame by marriage is also an issue in that they were - sort of - a power couple before his illness. That said, despite some nailed on talent in there I think they'll struggle to match the attrition rate of the 2023 crew.
Master Obit 830 Posted January 1 Dick van Dyke and Prunella Scales are daft inclusions. Would have been far better off being dropped. It's very unlikely either of them will die this year, and even if they did then I wouldn't exactly class them as misses considering their apparent health at the end of 2023. Replace both of those with Rob Burrow and Jonnie Irwin and you go from 0/2 hits to 2/2 hits with almost complete certainty (though it seems like being 50 or younger is a massive no for the deathlist pickers).
Charles De Gaulle 484 Posted January 1 A tie with all the 90+ year olds who were selected solely because of their age.
