Radar playback seems to show fluctuations in vertical speed just after take-off for both aircraft. Some are already pointing the finger at Manoeuvring Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS). There'll be a few people at Boeing this morning running around like blue-arsed flies. Three Austrians, three Swedes, three Russians, two Moroccans, two Spaniards, two Poles and two Israelis were also on the flight. It's believed many people were on their way to a United Nations conference. SC She was on a military charter from Guantanamo Bay to Jacksonville Naval Air Station. She overran the runway by about a thousand feet and ended up in the river. Weather wasn't good; thunderstorm overhead with 0.63 inches (16 mm) of rain falling in the 23 minutes prior to landing. The runway isn't grooved so there were puddles.. She landed with a tailwind rather than into the wind. There are reports of service families' pets and possibly working dogs in the hold - below the waterline.

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted December 29, 2019 And then there’s this, from the parking lot of Sir Creep’s Post Office!! No really! A small plane headed to the LSU game in Atlanta crashed in the parking lot of the post office on Pinhook Road Saturday morning. Five of the six people on board the plane were killed. It happened about a mile from the Lafayette Regional Airport near the intersection of Feu Follet and Verot school Road, just after 9:00 a.m. (SirC left town and began driving to New Mexico, coincidentally, at ‘just after 9:00 a.m.’ and found out about this only from friends talking about it on FB).
