Apparently he was seen getting in to the helicopter with his wife, but not his son, so I guess his son will take over. Not nice news, but I'm not a particular fan of King Power duty free shops, especially the annoying way they are positioned at BKK airport so you have to navigate through them to get to your gate as a way to force you to buy something (to be fair it's the same in most airports these days, but BKK back in 2006 was one of the first).

Brand spanking new. She flexed her wings for the first time on 30th July this year and was delivered to the airline just two weeks later.

Not the safest of airlines though.

Wow that's a lot of misshaps. I think they should change their company slogan to "We make people die"!

Probably go all Day Today on it.

"In 2011, no one died. In 2012, no one died. In 2013, there was the incident with the cow. In 2014, no one died. In 2015, no one died. In 2016, no one died. In 2017, no one died. In 2018, some people died. In 2019..."

Former (OK) state Rep. Mike Mass was critically injured Friday in a collision that claimed the life of his wife in Atoka County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Mass, 67, of Hartshorne, was driving a car about 6:25 p.m. Friday on Fred's Fish Camp Road, when he tried to turn onto northbound U.S. 69 just north of Stringtown, the patrol reported. Suzanne Mass, 69, of Hartshorne, was a passenger in the car.  The car was struck by a southbound car driven by Joseph Campbell, 48, of Jacksonville, Texas.  Suzanne Mass was pronounced dead at the scene.

Just minutes after the collision, a second fatality accident happened nearby as the driver of a tractor-trailer tried to get around the scene of the first collision, troopers said.

The tractor-trailer driver was merging onto northbound U.S. 69 from Fred's Fish Camp Road and was struck by a car driven by Jacob Durkin, 22, troopers said. Durkin, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died at the scene.

I drive past the Anahuac (Anna-WACK) area all the time, yeah they basically hit a swamp.  Not sure how to read the data plan you provided @Cat O'Falk, so they last transmitted from around 1600’ and 245 mph, all looks normal to me for a flight descending to land, though they had a good 70 land miles to go.

The last transmission from the ADS-B says they were descending at 29,504 feet per minute at an altitude of 1,325 feet.  :(

There are reports of no large pieces of debris which would mean they hit the ground at considerable speed. They seem to have deviated from the usual flight path by making a left hand turn towards the bay before the rapid descent.

Yes, clearly completely lost it at that point.

Right then a left sweep looking at least partially controlled, followed by something like a wingover straight into the deck?

Increasing loss of control becoming total at that point?

Fire maybe?

You'd need to be a better analyst than me really.

Horrible for them :(
