Magere Hein 1,400 Posted August 27, 2010 Here come the cancer rumours.... Hmm, I don't like this bit a bit: Chavez said he spent a happy five hours in Havana discussing global politics with Castro, 84, who has reappeared on the public stage in recent weeks after ill health led him to hand over the Cuban presidency in 2008. "He's devilishly well, I tell you, (showing) vitality, energy," Chavez said. "He's taken on a sort of crusade against war," he said of Castro's exhortations to U.S. President Barack Obama to avert a nuclear war over Iran. "Fidel is saying, 'Be careful,' because the imperialists in their madness could lead us to nuclear war, God spare us." regards, Hein

Phantom 2,531 Posted September 30, 2011 Rushed to hospital for kidney failure. regards, Hein He's denying it "I'm fine, I'm having my first coffee of the day," Mr Chavez, 57, told state TV by telephone. This reminds me of when Suharto was clinging on to life and calmly eating a biscuit in his hospital room

Tomb raider 9 Posted January 23, 2012 Still looking for an English source, but according to spanish newspaper ABC (and quoted in the Dutch Volkskrant), Chavez has no longer than a year to live. They allegedly laid hands on his personal medical file, which indicated that the cancer has spread to his bones and his back.
Guest Guest Posted January 23, 2012 To quote the article.. 'Hugo Chavez, the president of Venezuela, has a maximum of one year to live. The latest studies show that Chavez underwent his health rapidly deteriorating, reports the Spanish daily ABC. ABC had access to a confidential medical file of the president. A year ago, when Chavez was detected prostate cancer, and he was twice operated on in Cuba. The Venezuelan government had until now always assume posts which showed that the president on the mend and that he will overcome the cancer. The medical record reveals that bone metastases and spinal cord, and that Chavez in recent months much has swallowed painkillers to be able to act publicly. The file also shows that doctors in November the life of Chavez still one year estimate now it would be even shorter if the cancer is not more aggressive treatment than is currently the case. Chávez after the chemotherapy underwent surgery, did not have the desired effects, the file shows. In August he received a second dose chemotherapy and a third in October. Then the doctors still have a life expectancy of up to three years. The file shows that Chavez has refused an intensive treatment, because in November the doctors give him "a life expectancy of 12 months, assuming the patient is recommended intensive treatment remains to refuse. " Earlier this month, so expect further downward adjustment. "An extra dose of painkillers and stimulants will help create the impression that the cancer has stabilized, the patient is more visible to the people," said one of the specialists in the file.
