Sorry to hear that.  They're not really my cup of tea but a friend is an avid fan of Johnny and I did go and see them with her back in the summer.  She'll be gutted.

Heard on 60s radio that Danny Jordan, of the novelty act The Detergents, died. His group's main claim to fame was "Leader of the Laundromat", a parody of "Leader of the Pack", meaning the lead singers on both the original and the bad parody have died this year.

First death of 2 Jan 2025!

Mr. Wesley Chibambo (Dandy Krazy) has died.

Mr Chibambo who sustained multiple injuries in a road traffic accident, was admitted to the UTH-Adult in the early hours of yesterday. He underwent an emergency operation later in the day. However, he remained in a critical condition despite various treatment interventions employed by our health staff.
He was certified dead at 01:42 hours this morning.

I briefly, no actually considerably considered creating a thread for him. Feels deathlisty, but also like he has 5 more years in him.

Brenton Wood, American singer and songwriter, dead aged 83. He had hits in the USA with The Oogum Boogum Song (#34 on the Hot 100) and Gimme Little Sign (#9 on the Hot 100, #8 in the UK) both in 1967.

Can't easily search all the DDP teams just yet, but I found a team who picked him... as first sub. And no one on the team jumped the gun, oof.

 

Gimme Little Sign is definitely a choon though, RIP.

Brenton Wood is however a pick for Yorkshire Banker on the Poker Tourney, but he died too late to qualify.

 

Still seeking a QO for Death By Numbers where they did pick him for 2025.
