Judy Collins is 81 today.

Still very active from what I can tell and looking good. Wouldn't be surprised if she lived into her 90s.

Also, Rita Coolidge turns 75.

One of those singers that the Americans make a big fuss over and bestow lots of awards on, but for anyone across the Pond we just know her for singing a mediocre Bond theme.

Yeah, so those two get to appear in the last ever documentary and say "That Joni, she might have written a good song or two but she was a bitch!"

Are any of them dead though?

Not as dead as this forum is without ppl posting something vaguely relevant to ageing/deaths when there's a dry spell.

Has yet to Surrender   Retire his current job as a booking agent. The Covid Pandemic has put it on hiatus though

The Stranglers Facebook page has announced the death of keyboardist Dave Greenfield at the age of 71. He'd been hospitalised with heart problems and contracted COVID-19.

Very sad about this, The Stranglers were the first band I ever saw live, and his Ray Manzarek-esque keyboard playing was a big factor in my enjoyment of them.

Agreed, Dead Cow.
This song in particular was some fine keyboards I would always sit at the piano and do a poor imitation.

Well, Dave Greenfield goes before Jet Black? Who would have thought it?

He is unsurprisingly a miss for my TOTP theme team. Guess I had better place their 1984 #15 hit Skin Deep up to flagellate myself over it:

I definitely wouldn't have thought it - really sad. Saw them quite a few times - early on and recently, always a good gig

And me.  We could always depend on being able to go and see The Stranglers once a year somewhere not too far away.

They'd already cut down on the number of dates for future tours, but now, who knows.  :(

Some silly rumours that Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk has died.

Let's see if that firms up to an actual report.....

That would make me immensely sad.....

a twitter research shows this 2020 picture of him ... and honestly, he looks (looked?) terminally ill:

This is the origin of the rumours, Facebook post from the founder/boss of the MFS record label, which is probably as legit as you can get..

Seems strange he's not quoted a source, nor followed it up with further post(s), nor mentioned it n his Twitter feed.

Still, if it is true, RIP Florian
