It is going to be such a monumental world event that hasn't happened in the lifetime of most of the population. I also like the fact that we don't know when it will happen: it could be tomorrow, or it could be ten years from now. I am in the same boat. I don't wish death upon her, but when she dies, that will be a HUGE historical day unlike any we've seen in our lifetime, so it does get the heart pumping a bit. 2

I love the Royal Family and I think the Queen is great, but her insistence to keep her vow of 'working til death' is worrying. She has given a lifetime of work to our country and deserves a good rest in retirement. Despite the guilded life, she does work every day, on state paperwork and yet is never allowed to show emotion or opinion. I think the way that lots of things about the R F are never confirmed or denied, leaves people in a constant state of speculation. For all we know, one of them could have a terminal illness. Also, I'm one of those people who loves to know news first... which means when she does go I will be at work, nowhere near my phone and I'll find out hours later.
deathisallaround 21 Posted July 15, 2018 Fancy a giggle? https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/royal-staff-act-swiftly-overnight-12919527 A stupid article about a dog bowl but look at the photos of Queenie and Trump. She does not smile once! Even in the official photo with the two jokers either side of her. However, look at the difference when meeting the Belgium royals... Queenie is grinning from ear to ear! openviews 334 Posted July 15, 2018 Hoping that she and the Duke can hang on until Trump is gone from the White House. The idea that he wont be bumbling his way to being the centre of the attention at the funeral seems impossible.

Davey Jones' Locker 1,324 Posted September 18, 2018 Some random trivia for you. I was curious to see what percentage of people had known only one monarch in their lives. Here are some very rough figures that give an approximation. As of today, the Queen's been reigning 66 years and 209 days. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, on June 30 2016 (when the Queen had reigned 64 years and 4 months), 15.3% of Aussies were aged 65 and over, so 84.7% have only known one monarch. http://www.abs.gov.au/AUSSTATS/abs@.nsf/Previousproducts/3101.0Feature Article1Jun 2016 Also as of 2016, 18% of Brits were aged 65 and over so roughly 82% have only known one monarch. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/populationestimates/articles/overviewoftheukpopulation/july2017 Of course, this doesn't account for all the people who have died in the last two years, etc, but it gives a bit of an idea.
Davey Jones' Locker 1,324 Posted September 28, 2018 According to New Idea, the secret to the Queen's longevity is that she used to sneak inside a hollow oak tree when she was out hunting and have a nip of whiskey: https://www.newidea.com.au/the-queens-long-life-is-because-of-an-oak-tree I so want that to be true. Deathray 2,940 Posted September 28, 2018 She's 92. She's a rich westerner with access to the best medical assistance in the world. We'll start talking about her long life when she outlives her mum thank you very much.
Davey Jones' Locker 1,324 Posted September 29, 2018 The Queen Mum probably had two nips of whiskey in the tree to make her live even longer.

Maybe splitting hairs here, but Aquitaine was a Duchy not a kingdom. So technically Eleanor was never a queen regnant.
