Do any of the computer whizzes on here know if you can set up a spreadsheet to google the entries in the first column individually and open them up in separate chrome tabs? I just feel like this could be a life-save for those of us running deadpools. If you know of a way you can then get the spreadsheet to pluck their date of death from wikipedia/the news section on google and convert it into the number of days there's been in the year, subsequently adding it to boxes of a certain colour in that row that would be even more useful! Thanks in advance. By the way I'm using openoffice calc because I'm a miser.

I.E. is always to be avoided.. IE6 is a particular hate icon for web 'artistes'. IE11 is ok, but it's a bit 'locking the door after the horse has bolted'.

They're young, raging with hormones, capable of monumental sexual athleticism and provided with computer games and other levels of entertainment (including freely available weed at - relatively - affordable prices). Who wants a job?

a) those games consoles are often utilised to obssessive

 

it's hard to be happy with any percieved sexual athletism you may have when the main beneficiary is a kleenex tissue

 

c) you still need a job to pay for that weed and like anything the consumer percieves enjoyment from (alcohol, sport, spending hours online, eating) it'll have serious long term health effects.

 

d) The society we live in these days doesn't enforce socialisation the way the pre internet era which makes easier to withdraw into borderline hermitship. Which is fine if you can accept thats how you like it but dangerous if you can't.

 

Then there's the people aren't prepared for the real world schtick which holds some weight.

Losing a job at age 57-62 is the kiss of deàth. Very hard to Get work at that age. The depression starting in 2008 has ruined their savings, many lost their homes, jobs, status. People Ages 16-25 have usually been the group with the highest suicide rate, I guess things are getting back to normal, at least in the UK.

Either way, I don't know how anyone can access a powerpoint show without any Powerpoint software, be it .pot, .ppt or .pps. Also, afaik, you can't save a Powerpoint presentations as a .bmp. file (in the version I've used anyway).

 

There is a free Powerpoint viewer (available from MS) that enables viewing (but not editing) a presentation, seems to like .ppt files.

Cheers. Apparently the answer was 'D' - it was for some strange online quiz set by my work. We all need to demonstrate our digital competency, for reasons I haven't yet fathomed. Before undertaking the quiz I was supposed to read some gazillion page e-learning thingy, but I started to glaze over after the introduction. Anyway, I managed to scrape a pass in the end. Ok seeking real DP advice. In 2 days I can swoop and scoop up a name to add to my team, and the two names I am kicking around are Oliver Sacks or Daevid Allen (only two 'sure' 2015 bets who are available). Advice generally is to abide by the laws of the outgoing and incoming country. Contact the British consulate, embassy or high commission of the country in which the cremation took place and the appropriate advice and paperwork can be sorted from there.
