Octopus of Odstock 2,175 Posted March 8, 2022 Gordon Lee laid the foundations for Everton's success in the 1980's for it was he who bought or debuted Ratcliffe, Sharp and Kevin Richardson. Howard Kendall turned them into champions, but at least he had the framework in place to work from. Not like last night's mess

msc 18,374 Posted April 15, 2022 Finally got round to watching some of that BBC doc about the Premier League from late last year. Everyone interviewed (from Kenny Dalglish to Les Ferdinand) look good for their age, but Colin Hendry's seen better days, and surprisingly only just turned 56.

His wife died from some botched cosmetic surgery and it hit him hard. He was declared bankrupt about a decade ago too IIRC. Appeared a few times for a Blackburn Sunday League outfit a few years ago, though, after he'd turned 50, so still in OK shape but miss his mane of blonde hair. Beloved at Rovers, but it was still beautiful watching Gazza put him on his arse in Euro 96. Facially he's always looked older than his years (probably Scottish genes) and now he's going bald. I don't think he looks especially unwell though.
