S'cuse the cynicism, but...I'd say one of the safest predictions in football is that some opposing supporters will not demonstrate such sensitivity. He's contracted to Man U until at least the end of next season - away games at Man City and Liverpool in particular may offer up jaw-dropping chants of the worst throwback nature. For those unfamiliar with how bad it gets, Liverpool's fans over many years have been fond of referencing the 1958 Munich air crash when Man U visit by way of borrowing the tune of Always Look on the Bright Side of Life and singing "Always look on the runway for ice!" A bulletin will be released soon, but apparently he is in ICU in a critical condition and doctors are evaluating if he can be operated. Also not clear if it was an ischemic stroke or a cerebral hemorrhage. Not looking good for him at the moment, though.

Spade_Cooley 9,562 Posted April 24, 2022 On 18/03/2022 at 16:13, MarcJWallace said: Aleksei Bakharev, a midfielder who won one cap for both Russia and Ukraine in his career, has died aged 45. His sole cap for Russia came in a friendly with Brazil on November 18th 1998. Was boredly looking at the list of players who have caps for more than one nation on RSSF - turns out, following Bakharev's death, there are only two players alive who have two caps, each for a different nation: Miroslav Chvíla (Czechoslovakia 1992, Slovakia 1994) and Mukhsin Mukhamadiev (Tajikistan 1992, Russia 1994).
