Maybe the stress of having a loopy wife will bring the cancer out of remission! :o

Speaking as a loopy wife, I wouldn't count on it. My husband doesn't have cancer and we've been together over 20 years.

Why would they want him...very smart but a bit of a prick...religion or not, the proverb still applies...people u climb over on the way up, you seem to see again on the way down.

Cancer diagnosis haunts Michael Douglas

Posted October 29, 2011 13:02:32

Veteran actor Michael Douglas says he will never forget when he was first told he had late-stage throat cancer in 2010.

The 66-year-old Fatal Attraction actor, who was diagnosed with the disease in August, underwent radiation treatment and chemotherapy and in January 2011, announced the tumour was gone.

But five months earlier, the story was different.

"I'll never forget that moment when [the doctor] looked up at me and looked back down," Douglas has told actor Alec Baldwin in a podcast posted earlier this week for New York public radio station WNYC.

"I knew, and he said 'Well, I guess we're going to have to take a biopsy, see there's a polyp here' - it was on my tongue.

"Two days later, he called me back and said 'you've got cancer'."

Douglas said that just after filming Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, his throat felt "a little sore".

But he thought it was from the stress of portraying financier Gordon Gekko, the role that earned him an Oscar in 1987's Wall Street.

"I thought maybe it was from tension, from the part, where you haven't placed your voice, where you're swallowing your words and you speak from the back of your throat," he said.

"I had a little bit of a sore gum and so I saw doctors."

He underwent seven weeks of treatments that cleared the cancer and now he has this advice for others: "the thing with cancer is that you want to get it as early as you can."

Douglas also touched on coming to terms with his eldest son Cameron's history of drug abuse and his jail sentence in 2010 for dealing methamphetamine and cocaine and possessing heroin.

"I think as far as drug addiction, your peer group plays a huge part of that," said Douglas.

"In my oldest son's case, there was no end, until he was incarcerated."

After taking time to recover from cancer treatments, Douglas will next be seen in the title role of Liberace, a film based on the life of the famous American pianist with Matt Damon playing his on-screen lover.

"Liberace was a lovely guy," said the actor.

"I haven't played a lot of nice guys."

Comment 1: His cancer diagnosis is now also haunting deathlist as we languish awaiting the sixth hit. ;)

Comment 2: I wonder if he and Matt Damon will be method acting to prepare for their roles as Liberace and boyfriend. :evil2:

Guest GREGG METTLER

I heard Michael Douglas has cancer,

Serves him right - the little chancer,

Now he faces pain and strife,

A change from the pleasure of a young wife.

We can but hope that this is the end,

Lets all pray that he is not on the mend.

Both father and son now racing for death,

With a chance of a grandson KOing on Meth.

Put them both down for twenty-eleven,

They'll gain their place in DL heaven.

Perhaps too we could aim for a Pope,

If he does the decent thing and hangs from his rope.

The End.

You're amazing, and so is time

in a moment, you'll be mine

outside gnashing, your nasty teeth

screaming, yelling, at your bequeath

when you see the light you missed

your second death was not dismissed.

darkness now is your lost home,

your name forgotten, your chance is blown.

hollow echoes, as you fade

looking at light, from darkest shade

you realize in stupid stupor, something you missed

was right at the door.

lovingly, DEATH.

Hmm, I'm gonna make a bold prediction here and say the number of people who are gonna give up oral sex because of this "warning" is about the same number of times Kirk Douglas had sex last year (well.... I'm hoping to God/presuming it's zero). Sorry for that mental image.

Well, I wonder if he got the virus from his wife or from someone else... And if he got it from his wife, where did she get it from?

I imagine cancer is a walk in the park after living with that bitch.

No doubt she'll get her claws into some other poor bastard when hubby finally kicks the bucket.

When did it become cool to hate CZJ?
