Oggbad 0 Posted January 3, 2011 I notice that Bill Tarmey looks a pretty good bet for 1st result of the year. It looks like his years of ashfelting and smoking have caught up with him finally. I watched Corrie in 1985 as it was the only English programme we could receive, He was there then and good luck to the bloke for playing himself for all those years. I see he had his first major heart attack before he joined the show so perhaps we should not write him off, but not being able to breathe is not normally surviveable. Cheers Jack
Andy Garcia 1 Posted January 3, 2011 Didn't he die in the soap? Perhaps this will be his year in real-life.
Gadget 17 Posted January 3, 2011 Didn't he die in the soap? Perhaps this will be his year in real-life. Yes, he did die (just recently) in the soap!
Bert Trautmann 58 Posted March 2, 2011 My mate's dad operated on him yesterday, trying to get any further details out of him was like pulling teeth but if he's had surgery it might not be long for Mr. Duckworth
maryportfuncity 10,655 Posted March 4, 2011 If he was that ill they couldn't have operated on him in the first place. If your mate's dad operates on the obit-worthy, does he know about the cash4cadavers site?
Spade_Cooley 9,538 Posted March 27, 2011 Tarmey: probably not that ill. Tarmey's son: that's not looking too good.
Perfect Passing 277 Posted May 26, 2012 ***1st Ever Post*** Mr Tarmey still going on, as of last week, appeared on ITV1's All Star Family Fortunes. Needed a stool to sit on though and so did ageing Mrs Tarmey, special treatment me thinks. Could be a little race on in the Tarmey household even!

harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,689 Posted November 9, 2012 Not a great week for British character actors in sunny European climes. As a big Corrie fan, another sad loss. 'Jack in a box' - inevitable, but still funny.
Phantom 2,534 Posted November 9, 2012 awww poor Jack. I half thought Liz Dawn would have gone first out of the two. Bill Tarmey was one of the actors that made Coronation Street entertaining.
Toast 16,150 Posted November 9, 2012 I thought he was older than that, then I realised I had confused him with Stan Ogden. I always felt Vera and Jack were a bit Hilda and Stan Mk2.
