Karla Alvarez Mexican Telenova star usually in the villianess roles is dead at 41 from respiratory failure. According to the article she was rumored to be battling alcoholism and an eating disorder.

So in life she had trouble with eating and drinking, but she died from trouble at breathing...

Life's a bitch.

Hein

The most important and most powerful "comedian of political cabaret and satire" (I don't know if this is the right expression) Dieter Hildebrandt has died today aged 86 of prostate cancer.

Only German link, maybe later the English one:

Because, ATM, the spambots have the upper hand in the arms race against captcha software. DL staff are banning spammers like there's no tomorrow, but it always takes some time before that takes effect.

I think the most amusing thing about the spambots is that ever-so-high-profile threads such as the ones for Cliff Michelmore and Gough Whitlam are among the most popular targets. At least software targeting Michael Jackson makes some sort of sense.

I can think of many much more amusing things to spend my time on than deleting spam and banning spammers, as you may appreciate.

If deathlists were wishlists, mine would look like:

  • Spammers
  • Makers of spambots
  • Investors in spambots
  • Spammers
  • People who let their computer be hijacked by botnets
  • Spammers
  • Etcetera
  • Spammers
  • Spammers

regards,

Hein

Maybe amusing was the wrong choice of word... "confusing" perhaps? Didn't really mean to cause any offense and apologies if I did, as I'll be glad too when this spamwave dies off.

It can't be easy since only you and Paul out of 20 admins/mods on the team list ever visit anymore. OK, and DDT occasionally, but he moderates like Switzerland does wars.

French first lady rushed to hospital.Might be a suicide attempt following Pres Hollandes affair http://www.bbc.co.uk...europe-25706037

Otherwise known as "for rest and some tests". If she's due to be released tomorrow, they wouldn't release someone who is a potential suicide risk that quickly.

As I understand it, such affairs are in the job description.
