maryportfuncity 10,642 Posted August 24, 2015 When I was at uni in Lancaster he used to drink in one of the town centre pubs, forget its name. Anyway, we went in there specifically to watch him drown his sorrows the day after he was fired from his radio show for referring to a female caller as a "daft nig-nog". Great times. What, the firing of Jim or the pub-stalking? If it's not too much intrusion Spade, what were you studying at that windswept concrete bastion of academic greatness? Respect Spade. Lancaster's reputation in academia relating to the written word (literature and creative writing) is high.
kendoddsdadsdogsdead 0 Posted May 1, 2016 Just been doing a "Where are they now search". Came across Jim Bowen from Bullseye. Don't think he's got long left. On 22 February 2011 it was announced that Bowen was recovering in the Royal Lancaster Infirmary after having suffered from two mild strokes. He suffered his first stroke on Friday 18 February and the second one whilst in hospital.[9] Bowen suffered a third stroke in November 2014, which has left him struggling to walk and talk.[10]

By no means the funniest, but an excellent host of Bullseye. RIP Sir.
