Mildly spooky coincidence - I sang The Tra La La song on a karaoke website...on May 8th! I hope the two events weren't psychically connected.

I request that you do To All The Girls I've Loved Before next time.

Nothing to do with the fact Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias are both on my TOTP team this year. Nope. Not at all. Nada. Just a great choon.

I've sung plenty of Willie but not that song and not Jules either. I do have a penchant for jumping on the tribute bandwagon though, I remember being the first out of the blocks with Pete Shelley, and had a bash at My Boy Lollipop just the other day.

What's your karaoke song of choice?

John Cage's 4-33

Not exactly a crowd-pleaser :P

That depends on your voice.

Ah yes, now I remember your excellent version at the Queen Anne, the highlight being the melodious but malodorous fart and subsequent audience titter @2:37

Since my post in the karaoke thread, I can confirm that my total karaoke participations now stand at 2. Much like last time, it was Nirvana (Come As You Are) and I was absolutely arseholed.

Post-lockdown, I might even attempt a third.

I was actually only asking Willz, not trying to redo a previous thread. But hey no matter, that was a while ago and maybe noobs would like to get it off their chests anyway.

Well, it's not my choice, but by popular acclaim and number of requests it's Beauty School Dropout from Grease.

If I had to choose one myself (because I've done a few more since the Standards thread) it would be Stars from Les Miserables.

Appalled to discover Roger Whittaker doesn't appear to have his own thread

Anyway, thought I'd ask a deeply personal question re lockdown

Has anyone - like me - ditched the contact lenses and worn glasses all day and then sat out in the sun but worn a sizeable hat to deflect the worst of the rays? Only asking because I did that today, wandered inside, passed a mirror and got a brief sighting of Roger Whittaker. Scared the living shit out of me to be fair!

Was running too fast in the other direction to notice - wearing my contacts tomorrow and seriously thinking of ditching the goatee

This is an interesting point, I mean, there must be people out there that look a bit like Jimmy Savile and Rose West etc.

What a curse that would be!

Well, Rose West looks a lot like Rose West!

That must be a daily struggle for motivation

Oh aye and...

Sure I posted this on the Savile thread years ago but...

An enterprising fancy dress shop in Maidstone did a deal a few years back with - I think - Asda to take all their Jimmy Savile fancy dress costumes (because the outfit in question was basically a shiny tracksuit, blonde wig and plastic cigar it'd had been a cheap and cheerful seller for a few years). That following Halloween the local press had a gift of a cover story when Week Street's main bar/party area was briefly flooded with Jimmy Savile's.

Other than that, I'd say those who resemble Savile have likely taken steps by way of a haircut, growing a beard etc...to deal with the affliction

Finally understand the use of the birthday thread. I knew it's his birthday and I still got a heart attack reading the first 3/4 of this post :P

What does Rose West look like now? Has there been a picture taken of her since 1995?
