Sir Kenneth Newman, former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police (1982-1987), has died aged 90.

Sir Nicholas Wall QC, former President of the Family Division of the High Court (2010-2012), has died aged 71.

Newman dies the same day the Met gets a woman chief. And she's a Dick. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39055696

I think it's a hoax. The article is one day old and no other sources have picked up on it yet.

Yeah, there's enough people who knew her personally tweeting about her death that it's definitely legit.

It hasn't even been a month since Abdel Rahman died, and now she dies. Coincidence?

Did she actually die from the cancer that was supposed to be killing her, or from the strokes she had?

Probably the strokes although the cancer had spread throughout the body and into her brain which caused the strokes.

Unfortunately it is Baron McClusky who is the SHBD pick.

Hmm. John McCluskey, Baron McCluskey is the designation of the man who retired from the House of Lords on 1 March.

Misspelling, perhaps?

Baroness Hale aged 72 is the first female head of the supreme court. She maybe Hale but she doesn't look particularly hearty.

According to this page, there are now no living peers 100+ with the deaths of both Lord Longford and Lord Hutchinson over the past day:

http://www.leighrayment.com/reppeers/peerrecords.htm

Incidentally, Lord Longford was the oldest peer ever at 105.

Oldest peer is now Derek Barber, 99 (retired from the House of Lords in 2016). He will turn 100 in June 2018.

Peter Carrington is the oldest sitting peer as well as longest served. He's also the only living cabinet minister pre 1974. I wonder what condition he's in.

Lord Longford?  I'm confused.  Which Lord Longford do you mean?
