This time it is presenters of WatO (or The World at One for those peasents who don't listen to Radio 4. For a programme that began in 1965 it only has six surviving main presenters William Davis (b.1933) Brian Widlake (?) David Jessell (?) James Naughie (b.1951) Martha Kearney (b 1957) Shaun Ley (b.1969) All would expect a BBC obit but surprised I couldn't find more detail on Jessell. He said he had liver failure and that his liver is so damaged it cant tolerate morphine very well.My guess is the nurse said weeks or months to not completely crush him. He was a news reporter during The Troubles, after which he went on to create and present Bookshelf and Word of Mouth on Radio 4. He also wrote and presented Omnibus on BBC 1.
