Bibliogryphon 9,423 Posted April 30, 2015 He was on the One Show last night. Only watched for about 30 seconds but seemed in good spirits. I think leaving him off this year was the right decision

charon 4,942 Posted May 26, 2016 On Front Row on R4 there, pluggin his auto biog . Don't think he's going anywhere fast, and when he does, it'll be quick. So, unless he falls ill after Xmas one year, he's off all my lists permanently.

msc 18,296 Posted December 3, 2016 The BBC doc on Wilko from last Christmas is on Dailymotion in 2 parts, for folks who didn't see and don't torrent. Part 1 Part 2 Seems a happy go lucky guy, all things considered.

Banana 859 Posted March 3, 2019 New interview Quote Last time we spoke back in 2013 you had received a diagnosis of terminal cancer and were given months to live. You were very laid back about it. Had you resigned yourself to your fate at that point? The strange thing is, when I got that diagnosis, it was the start of a fantastic year for me. A lot of mad things happened and then being in this place thinking that you`re going to die. It did get pretty bad at times sometimes in the middle of the night but when I was walking around I'd be feeling quite high. When I went to different places and visited friends, when I said goodbye I wondered if it really was for the last time. How are you now? It seems very unjust but I'm in the clear and feeling pretty healthy other than I'm missing a pancreas but apart from that I'm really fit.

Other than the current year choice, Prince Philip, Wilko holds the distinction of being the only surviving number one pick. Kudos.

Youth in Asia 1,064 Posted June 8, 2020 https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2020/jun/08/wilko-johnson-musician-on-life-in-lockdown-i-feel-grateful-to-be-alive In 2012 I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and told I had less than a year to live. The tumour was not amenable to surgery, and chemotherapy, with all its attendant suffering, could do no more than slow it down. I decided to accept death as a certainty, seek no miracle cures or second opinions, and spend my money. I was freed when, right at the last minute, surgeons at Addenbrooke’s hospital removed a tumour the size of a melon and weighing three kilos – and saved my life. Yes mate, we remember
