The 94 World Cup was pretty terrible, but that game will live on. Cheerio Wolfman.

Anyone know the cause? All the articles I read have the same cut and paste press wire.

Enjoy again...

Hannes Löhr, West German footballer, 1970 Mexico World Cup, dies aged 73.

Spent his entire playing career at FC Cologne, and managed the W German U21 team, including to third in the Seoul Olympics.

He'd watched a basketball game and apparently died in his sleep hours later.

(OK, so ignore all that - gcr beat me to it, but my link's in English)

Spade -- actually I twitched a moment as I posted this...wondering if by 'U-20' that was outside the scope of this thread. Didn't care enough to actually read the obit, so letting the chips fall where they may. *shrugs*

Romania's manager in 1970, Angelo Niculescu, dead at 93. This leaves just Raul Cardenas (Mexico), Hernan Carrasco Vivanco (El Salvador) and the aforementioned Mario Zagallo (Brazil) as the final three gaffers from that tournament still with us.

Looks like Raul Cardenas has died at 87: https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.futbolsapiens.com%2Factualidad%2Fnacional%2Ffallecio-raul-cardenas-a-los-87-anos%2F&edit-text=

A player in 1954, 1958 and 1962 as well.

AC Milan will be wearing suspiciously dark black armbands with a weird centre parting in tribute.

Never played in a World Cup, because he was a meme footballer.

I know but i didn't know where to post that news.

Wouldn't worry too much about that. This is the third thread it's been posted on.
