Ideas And Possibilities For 2016

Might be nothing but Craig Cash voiced over Gogglebox last night instead of Caroline Aherne - has there been any news on her health since her last cancer diagnosis?

Ricky Tomlinson said she was doing much better earlier this year and that there may be a Royle Family Christmas special this year but nothing since.

EDIT:Found this http://www.chortle.co.uk/news/2015/10/14/23390/caroline_aherne_to_make_a_rare_tv_appearance

sounds a bit like Valerie Harper to me.

Peter Sarstedt anyone? Just done a search and can't see any reference to him. He's been ill for a while now. Where will he go to my lovely?

Not in my bed; more's the pity. Love that song, always have and always will.

The leader of the TOP 09 political party and former Czech foreign minister, Karel Schwarzenberg, has announced that he will not stand for re-election to the top party post at its upcoming party congress. His position as party chairman was due to be renewed in November. Schwarzenberg, cited health reasons as one reason for his refusal to stand again.

Semi-vague but one to keep our DL eye on.

There is definitely something going on with Nanci Griffith, the American folk singer. She has not been seen in two years, her facebook is full of people asking after her, and in late 2013 and early 2014 there were cancelled performances due to illness and nothing since. Twice beat cancer, looked frail during 2013 and also has arthritis. Reportedly a smoker, but not sure how true that is.

That'll piss her off. I always prefer people to ask before me, it's just polite.

Good spot, the most recent newsy activity on her site is two and a half years old and if you follow through to the news pages the link doesn't work.

She's 62, by the way, and obit material for sure, so DDP worthy.

Names not to forget--a nice little synopsis of 32 celebs fighting cancer, though it's a year old and some have died.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/05/09/showbiz/celebrity-news-gossip/hugh-jackman-cancer/index.html

I believe Oliver Sachs is the only one from that list who has died.

Jimmy Fallon could be one to watch.

Rumours about drinking out of control and three accidents in the last four months.....

I'm not sure if it can be said that his drinking is out of control when one photo of him posing with fans mentions he was "sipping wine".

Doctors have diagnosed popular Czech pop singer Karel Gott with a lymph node malignant tumorous disease known as Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Gott has been treated in Prague´s General Teaching Hospital (VFN) since Sunday evening. Doctors made the diagnose during the urgent abdominal surgery that Gott, 76, underwent in Prague´s Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) last week.

I was going to withhold some of my choices but, seeing as I don't actually participate in the DDP, I'm not actually affected by giving away my choices (everyone here probably already has the following names queued up for their pools anyway).

Likely obit-able names:

Tommy Chong (actor): prostate cancer and rectal cancer
Gaston Glock (Firearms engineer): suffered a few strokes and is in ill health, also old

Joyce Randolph (actress: "Honeymooners"): just plain old and frail
Charles Trippy (vlogger): Brain tumour removed last year, had lots of seizures this year- ongoing treatment

Sumner Redstone (Billioinaire Viacom): old and in failing health
Joseph Kony (remember that guy?): Reportedly gravely ill

Some fringe picks for shadow lists:

Stan Mikita (Hockey player): Previously battled oral cancer, now has Lewy Body Dementia
Chuck Blazer (FIFA Admin): Colon cancer, diabetes, coronary heart disease

I have more written down somwhere... will update later
