Spade_Cooley 9,637 Posted June 11, 2015 Begging the question: which artist has recorded the most albums? Not live albums, not compilations, full studio albums. Merzbow's Wikipedia entry has him down for 237 since 1980, all of them completely unlistenable. Outsider artist/rapper/internet meme Viper recorded 333 albums in 2014, but the majority of those are either mixtapes or more like EPs than albums so that doesn't count. gcreptile 11,078 Posted June 11, 2015 Australian ambient artist Steve Roach has about 150 albums: http://steveroach.com/Music/discography.php?query= Plus, the guest appearances on other albums. I see that some entries in that list are duplicates/re-releases, so maybe the "real" number is around 130. On the other hand, he also likes to record 4-hour long albums like "Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces". Many of his records are relatively same-y though, but occasionally, there are gems and new ideas to be found. I guess electronic ambient artists are pretty high on such a list. Tangerine Dream also has tons of albums, or their collaborator Klaus Schulze. I guess jazz artists don't count because at some level of fame every live appearance sees a studio release, and these are not really studio albums.

YoungWillz 21,219 Posted June 11, 2015 Chartoff, Moody, Lee, Coleman and Rhodes. 5 big names in one day, with hours to go. Is this the blackest day in DL history? I could have sworn Blaze Starr was on the DDP this year (never heard of this person before) but I'm struggling to find the entry. Sir Creep 7,071 Posted June 16, 2015 As much as I felt like starting a Track & Field/Gymnastics thread, I fought hard not to as we tend to see these folks in the Olympics. This is a rare exception and we don't need threads for rare exceptions. Larry Stuart, a member of USC's national champion 1963 track and field team and captain of the 1964 squad, died of cancer at the Sand Canyon Hospital in Irvine, Calif. on June 6.
