A northern expression indicating bemusement because events have taken a turn the speaker - now heading for the foot of the stairs - never expected. The heading for the foot of the stairs is an act of separation from others involved in the said events and indicates both self-chastisement on the part of the speaker and also a ceding of social power because s/he has been publicly exposed as lacking in knowledge and acumen.

Or summat

I always thought Annette Crosbie drank from the furry cup.

You learn something everyday or summat.

Annette Crosbie (b.1934) was married to Michael Griffiths and had two children. Her daughter Selina Griffiths is also an actress. She provided the voice for Galadriel in Ralph Bakshi's animated film of LOTR.

Is there a transport related fatality/murder/underground thread anywhere? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-34990379

I think it was somewhere along the lines of Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

They weren't actually on the train though were they. More, under it.

The legendary sports writer, Hugh Mcilvanney, is now 80. Gotta be a contender so to speak.

And to continue the boxing theme, he once interviewed Joe Bugner.

Joe Bugner: Get me Jesus Christ and I'll fight him tomorrow!

Mcllvanney: Joe, you're only saying that because you know he's got bad hands

:D

Almost on the money, but fuck. I was going to do a who'll go first , William or Hugh? thread only last week.

I was thinking it begs the question why a Mollie Sugden thread was ever created. Don't have the time to see which was created first but whichever was second was most certainly walking all over an existing thread.

Godot, who started the Sugden thread was rather obsessed with her for some reason, to the extent that he tried to get me to find out her bank details.

Well before their was internet porn people would watch dvd and vhs porn and before their was VCR's unless you wanted to look at an airbrushed mag the closest porn alternative was Mrs Slocombe talking about her pussy. To people of a certain age she was their Lisa Ann or Seka.

John Trudell, american-indian activist, also poet/singer/songwriter/actor dies of cancer at 69:

And I had just put him on my team this week. There were rumours he had died a couple of days ago, but they turned out to be premature.
