One of the most known authors in Finland selling over four million copies but not so famous outside of Finland and Estonia. Pentti Saarikoski (1937-1983) during his short life became one of the most known Finnish poets of the 20th century. Her most famous book was the award-winning 2017 "Jääkansi" that won multiple awards and got her the nickname "Master of Arctic Hysteria", however she didn't live long enough to gain international fame. McKinney, who also worked as a San Antonio Police Department sergeant, frequently set his work in the Alamo City and incorporated elements of police procedural into his novels and short stories. He died in his sleep on Tuesday. McKinney won two Bram Stoker Awards, horror writing's top prize, for his novels Flesh Eaters and Dog Days. That seems remarkably fast. I read some of her books, but although the Caffrey ones were supposed to be "standalone" within the series, I found that if read out of order they were full of spoilers which could easily have been avoided. Tokyo /devil of Nanking will always be one of my most favourite books closely followed by The treatment. The treatment is terrifying especially as a parent. Her mind for horror was so unique and deprived (in a good way). Heard she has her final book being released in 2022, shall pre order it ASAP.
